As we enter into September 2024, the K-drama world looks to offer up a healthy dose of feel-good slice-of-life series with a good sense of humour. They include Seoul Busters (starring Kim Dong-wook, Seo Hyun-woo), Dog Knows Everything and family drama Iron Family.
Other exciting K-dramas premiering in September 2024 include What Comes After Love, an adaptation of the 2005 novel of the same name, and Dear Hyeri, which follows an announcer struggling with dissociative identity disorder. Netflix will also release the long-awaited second season of Gyeongseong Creature, starring Han So-hee and Park Seo-joon.

Seoul Busters
Disney+’s upcoming crime-comedy Seoul Busters follows Dongbang Yoo-bin (Kim Dong-wook), the leader of an elite violent crimes team who is sent to head the country’s lowest-ranked team.
Also starring in Seoul Busters are Park Ji-hwan, Seo Hyun-woo, Park Se-wan and Lee Seung-woo, who form Yoo-bin’s new team of misfits. As he helps them become better crime fighters, his new team’s jovial and fun-loving personalities also begin to rub off on him.

The Judge From Hell
The Judge From Hell stars Park Shin-hye as Kang Bit-na, a beautiful but controversial judge known for giving light sentences to heinous criminals. However, she is secretly possessed by a demon whose mission is to lead ten evil people to hell, which she carries out through her job as a judge.
However, Bit-na crosses paths with detective Han Da-on (Kim Jae-yeong), a gifted man with a painful past. As they start to form a romantic bond, Bit-na’s mission as a demon proves more complicated than expected.

Dear Hyeri
Starring Shin Hye-sun stars in Dear Hyeri as Joo Eun-ho, an announcer trying to make her breakthrough who develops a second personality named Hye-ri due to a deep emotional wound. Starring opposite her is Sweet Home’s Lee Jin-wook as her ex-boyfriend and star announcer Jung Hyun-oh. While he is known for his affable nature and varied skill-set, he frequently clashes with Eun-ho.
Also starring in Dear Hyeri is Kang Hoon as Kang Joo-yeon, a military academy graduate-turned-announcer, and Jo Hye-joo as Baek Hye-yoon, an all-rounder Gen Z announcer who is in love with Joo-yeon.

Dog Knows Everything
Dog Knows Everything is a feel-good drama about a group of friends in their seventies living life to their fullest. The series is led by Lee Soon-jae as Lee Sun-jae, a respected actor who gets involved with an incident on set that paints him as a bully to the public. After moving to a quiet neighbourhood on Geoje Island, he forms a close friendship with Kim Yong-gun and Im Chae-moo.
When Sun-jae comes across a former police dog named Sophie, whose barks start to become comprehensible to him. From the intel they get from her, the trio begin to investigate strange happenings in their neighbourhood.

Iron Family
Iron Family is about the love and conflict between family members. Kim Jung-hyun (Mr. Queen) stars as Seo Gang-ju, the son of the richest family in his neighbourhood and an executive at a major company. Meanwhile, Keum Sae-rok (Soundtrack #2) plays Lee Da-rim, the youngest daughter of a laundry shop who is visually impaired. The pair, who went to university together, reunite after eight years.
Meanwhile, Yang Hye-ji (Nevertheless, Sweet Home) plays Cha-rim, Da-rim’s older sister who is neglected by her mother due to her sister’s impairment. Choi Tae-joon (The Undateables) stars as Cha Tae-woong, a part-time worker at the laundry shop who becomes a part of their family.

Gyeongseong Creature season two
Following its first season set during World War Two, the new season of Gyeongseong Creature takes place in 2024, where Ho-jae (Park Seo-joon), who resembles season one’s Jang Tae-sang, meets Yoon Chae-ok (Han So-hee). The new season will explore the fate and unfinished story between the two of them.

What Comes After Love
Led by Lee Se-young and Kentaro Sakaguchi, What Comes After Love is based on the novel of the same name by Jong Ji-young and Hitonari Tsuji. Lee stars as Choi Hong, a Korean international student in Japan who meets Aoki Jungo (Sakaguchi) and falls in love with him.
While the pair quickly develop a romantic relationship, they eventually break up because of practical issues and their differing ideas of love. Five years after their painful split, the couple meet again in Korea.
