K-pop boyband SHINee recently paid tribute to their late member Jonghyun, who passed in 2017, during their concert in Incheon, South Korea over the weekend.
From May 24 to 26, SHINee held three concerts at the Inspire Arena in Incheon, South Koreas as part of the encore dates of their ‘SHINee World VI: Perfect Illumination’ tour. During the final show of the tour, members of the boyband remembered and spoke about their late member, Jonghyun.
According to SBS Star, the moment came shortly what the publication described as a “flashlight event” for SHINee that was prepared by their fans during the boyband’s performance of their Japanese song ‘An Encore’.
Following the performance, member Taemin spoke about how the moment had “felt like a dream” to him, adding: “When it was Jonghyun’s part, I thought, ‘Hyung, you are doing well, right?’ Then, when I opened my eyes, I saw the flashlights shining across the venue.”

Later during the end of the show, Key also spoke about how he has ” thought a lot about Jonghyun” over the course of the concert. “I always believe he’s with us,” added the singer. “I’m always trying to find comfort in believing he’s still with us. I believe you all feel the same. We’re still together now, not in the past. So today, we will say goodbye to you as five members.”
Elsewhere during SHINee’s Incheon concert, fans also noticed a moment during the performance of their 2013 hit ‘Everybody’, Minho blew a kiss up towards the key, a moment they believe is also in tribute to Jonghyun.
에블바에서 늘 종현 파트를 챙겨주는 민호가 너무너무 고마워. 이제는 에블바 순서가 되면 이 파트를 기다리게 돼. 이때는 뭐랄까, 민호 덕에 쫑한테 파트가 주어진 기분이야. https://t.co/s2dYtFHZHQ pic.twitter.com/SB9tCrt7C9
