The Grammy Museum has announced the launch of an upcoming K-pop exhibition named ‘HYBE: We Believe in Music, A Grammy Museum Exhibit’.

The Grammy Museum has joined forces with South Korean entertainment giant HYBE – home to K-pop acts such as BTS, NewJeans, SEVENTEEN and more – for the exhibit.
It’s said to be the museum’s “first full-floor K-pop exhibit as part of its ongoing initiative to explore the music, culture, technology, fandom and business behind Korean pop music”, per AP News.
The outlet also shared that the artefacts to be displayed in the 4000-square-foot exhibition will include never-before-seen items, save for a handful of BTS wardrobe and costume items.
The pieces will represent a total of 78 K-pop idols, including iconic outfits worn in popular concept photos and music videos, such as BTS’ ‘Yet To Come’, SEVENTEEN’s ‘Maestro’, TXT’s ‘Sugar Rush Ride’ and LE SSERAFIM‘s ‘Easy’.
Several more acts under HYBE, such as ILLIT, BOYNEXTDOOR, TWS and &TEAM, will also have artefacts on display at the same exhibit. Aside from displays, the exhibit will also boast interactive experiences for attendees, such as “random dance play” in the museum’s rotunda, a Photoism booth and more.
“We’re even going to have a little fan area where fans can express what K-pop means to them, how they came about it and, like, leave their mark on the exhibit,” Grammy Museum President and CEO Michael Sticka told AP News.
According to the outlet, the new exhibit aims to “provide attendees with an in-depth look at the company’s roster and the ways in which they’ve evolved the K-pop landscape”. The exhibition will only be made available for a limited period, running from August 2 to September 15 at the museum located in downtown Los Angeles.
“This is going to be one of the largest exhibits the museum’s ever curated,” Sticka added. “They’ll take over the entire third floor of the museum.” He also went on to underscore the company’s role in K-pop, saying, “HYBE in particular, their impact on really the world of music is indisputable.”
