Sharon Van Etten performing live on stage

Sharon Van Etten has shared more details about her one-off London live show next week. Find out how you can be there below.

Earlier this week, the New Jersey singer-songwriter announced that she would be taking to the stage in the capital on Wednesday (July 17) for her first gig in over a year.

“Hi, it’s Sharon,” she began in a brief video on social media, “and I have a little secret.”

Van Etten continued: “The band and I are in London, and we are playing a show on July 17th. But if you want more details, you have to sign up for my email list.”

Pointing to her chin, she then joked: “Hopefully my zit will be gone by then. Ssh, don’t tell anyone!”

Today (July 11), the ‘Seventeen’ artist confirmed that the gig will take place at the 350-capacity 100 Club on Oxford Street. Doors are scheduled to open at 7:30pm BST, with support coming from The Attachment Theory.

Tickets are available via a lottery process (two per person). Fans can enter by signing up to Van Etten’s email list, or registering through Ticketmaster.

“Soooo the secret London show we’re playing now has a venue…. The 100 Club!” Van Etten wrote alongside an official poster.

“I’ve been in London for a bit with my band and I’ve always felt a connection to this city. I’m so glad to be back. We’re really looking forward to seeing you at the show on the 17th.”

She added: “Thanks to everyone who signed up to my email list, hopefully I’ll see you there! Tickets will be sold via a lottery process at a maximum of two per person and confirmed ticket recipients will be notified on Monday, July 15th.”

Van Etten released her sixth and latest studio album, ‘We’ve Been Going About This All Wrong’, in May 2022. Last year, she shared ‘Quiet Eyes’ from the Past Lives soundtrack and the Courtney Barnett co-written single ‘Close To You’.

The singer has not yet announced any new material, but she signed a global publishing deal with Warner Chappell Music at the start of this year (via Music Week). Her most recent UK shows took place in 2022 when she headlined Brixton Academy.

Last December, Van Etten’s track ‘Quiet Eyes’ was shortlisted for Best Original Song at the Oscars 2024. The award ultimately went to Billie Eilish and Finneas for ‘What Was I Made For?’ from Barbie.

More recently, Van Etten has been celebrating the 10th anniversary of her 2014 album ‘Are We There’.

Reviewing 2022’s ‘We’ve Been Going About This All Wrong’NME wrote: “Standout ‘Mistakes’ is Van Etten at her best, its thumping chorus ideal for banishing lockdown-induced rumination on your regrets […]

“Although it lacks the immediacy of 2018’s hookier ‘Remind Me Tomorrow’, this unyielding record is, at times, a powerful reckoning with the age of uncertainty.”
