Charli XCX has revealed that she doesn’t see herself making music forever, and is tempted to explore other avenues instead.

The comments from the artist come on the heels of her releasing her hit album ‘Brat’, which has become somewhat of a phenomenon in pop culture this summer.

Despite overwhelming praise for the release though, Charli has confirmed that she isn’t only focusing her energy on making music, and would instead like to explore other avenues of creativity later down the line.

“I would like to flex my creative muscles on other areas. I don’t envisage myself making music forever,” she said (via The Sun’s Bizarre column). “Maybe I will in some capacity, but I just feel like there are other creative areas I really want to explore.”

It appears that one of these new avenues the ‘Boom Clap’ singer is considering is a shift into the acting world. This comes as she’ll soon be making her acting debut in the remake of the ‘70s cult horror film Faces Of Death.

“I was a fan of the original movie,” she said, discussing the upcoming role.

“I saw that this film was being remade by a director, Daniel Goldhaber. We met and we spoke, and he was like, ‘You should be in it’. I was like, ‘Wow, that’s crazy’… I really got the bug from that.”

As highlighted by Bang Premier, the forthcoming remake is likely to follow a similar format to the original, which is presented like a documentary detailing some of the most horrifying murders around the time. The original was banned in multiple countries for using some footage of real incidents.

The update from Charli comes after fans noticed Kyle MacLachlan’s recent online admiration of the singer, and just days since discussed how his Twin Peaks character is “Brat-coded”.

“Once I understood ‘babygirl’ then everything fell into place,” he said in an interview. He also called the ‘Brat’ artwork “bright”, “compelling, and eye-catching” enough for him to theme his Instagram profile photo to look like it.

Meanwhile, Clairo has expressed her love for the ‘Girl, So Confusing’ remix with Lorde, saying that the two artists are “both geniuses to me”.
