Call of Duty MW3 Error Code 2901: Several soldiers can be seen fighting.

With Call of Duty: MW3 releasing into Game Pass alongside Season 5, players are running into a somewhat frustrating issue in the form of an error code. MW3 error code: 2901 has been popping up alongside the Game Pass launch and there are a few reasons why it could be a problem for you.

Below, you can find a breakdown of how you can fix the issue and where you can look to find out about wider issues with MW3’s servers.

If you are getting error code 2901 in Call of Duty: MW3 then it is because of issues connecting to the Call of Duty servers, or you not having access to online multiplayer via Xbox Live or PS Plus. There is no way to easily fix this. However, with the Game Pass release, and recent changes to the service, this could be because you have Game Pass Console (and therefore don’t have access to online multiplayer).

This can be fixed by upgrading to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or grabbing a Xbox Game Pass Core subscription alongside your Console one. Either of these subscription tiers grant you access to online multiplayer. The same goes for PlayStation players. You may need to grab a PS Plus subscription to connect online.

If you do have one of these subscriptions and you still can’t get online, then the issue is likely a larger one, related to Call of Duty‘s servers. The best place to keep up to date with any server issues or downtime is the official Call of Duty Updates’ X account.

Other things to check include your own internet connection, as well as any issues with the platform you are playing on like the Xbox or PlayStation servers. PC players should be immune to the issues this error code causes unless there are issues with Call of Duty‘s own servers.
