Raygun and Adele

Adele has questioned if the viral breakdancing routine that emerged from the Paris Olympics was “a joke”.

The ‘Set Fire To The Rain’ singer joined scores of viewers who were left wondering if the Australian entry was some kind of gag, after Raygun – real name Rachael Gunn – completed a bizarre routine that ended up scoring 0 points.

Over the weekend, the singer paused one of the shows in her Munich residency to discuss the dance, asking her fans: “Did anyone see the breakdancing lady? Now I didn’t even know breakdancing was an Olympic sport these days. That is fucking fantastic.”

She continued: “I can’t work out if it was a joke but either way it has made me very very happy and me and my friends have been shitting ourselves laughing for nearly 24 hours.

“I just wanted to know if you have seen it. If you haven’t seen it, please leave the show and Google it because it is lols, it is so fucking funny.” She also declared the moment her “favourite thing that has happened in the Olympics this whole whole time”.

It’s not the first time fans in Munich have been treated to Olympic-related breaks in her show. She also paused proceedings on August 3 to stream the semi-final and final of the women’s 100m Olympic races.

The run of Munich shows has seen her perform ‘Chasing Pavements’ for first time in seven years, as well as announce her engagement to Rich Paul.

Adele has said she wants to take “a big break” after her residency shows to “do other creative things”, telling German outlet ZDF: “I don’t have any plans for new music, at all,” she revealed in the discussion. “I want a big break after this and I think I want to do other creative things, just for a little while.”
