K-pop girl group fromis_9 have made a comeback with their new single album ‘Supersonic’.

On August 12 at 6pm KST, the eight-member act unveiled the music video for the release’s title track ‘Supersonic’. The visual features the girl group lounging in the summer heat in the day, and partying in a container park by night.

Anytime day and night / Hit me hit me up, hit me hit me up now / Your deepest delight / Show me right now, yeah, show me right now / Super super, supersonic, supersonic uh / Super super, supersonic, supersonic uh,” they sing on the chorus.

In addition to the lead track, ‘Supersonic’ contains two B-sides, ‘Beat the Heat’ and ‘Take a Chance’. The former was penned by members Lee Sae-rom and Park Ji-won, and the latter by Lee Sae-rom, Park Ji-won and Lee Seo-yeon.

“We want to share our signature refreshing vibe while showcasing our healthy energy,” said fromis_9 in a press release.  “This single truly captures ‘summer’ itself. From the intense and passionate lead track ‘Supersonic’ to the cool and breezy B-sides like ‘Beat the Heat’ and ‘Take A Chance’, we’ve infused the essence of summer into every song. We hope listeners can recharge their energy and enjoy a refreshing summer with our new single.”

‘Supersonic’ comes over a year after the girl group’s last comeback with ‘Unlock My World’ in June 2023, which marked the first studio release of their career. In October 2023, they released the single ‘Love Me Back’ for the original soundtrack of the webtoon series Operation: True Love.

In related news, fellow Pledis Entertainment group SEVENTEEN have announced that its members Jeonghan and Jun will miss their upcoming world tour. Jeonghan is set to begin his military enlistment, while Jun will be pursuing his acting career in China.
