The Offspring have shared the full video of Yungblud joining them on stage for their set closer ‘Self Esteem’ – watch it below.
The California punks welcomed Yungblud, real name Dominic Harrison, on stage for the end of their set at Open Air Gampel in Switzerland on Friday (August 16) to perform the 1994 single.
Frontman Dexter Holland said to the crowd: “I mean, one of the cool things about playing these festivals is that you get to play with other people and meet other people, and we met some great guys today.
“We met this great young man today. We thought we should bring him out to play a song with us, right? What the hell! Because that’s what it’s all about. It’s not about the photo op – it’s about the camaraderie with the audience. Come on out, it’s Yungblud!”
At the end of the song, Holland thanked the Doncaster singer, saying, “Thank you Yungblud! He’s pretty good, I think he’s gonna be okay.”
Yungblud and shared some footage from the song on Instagram shortly after, quoting the song lyrics, “That’s okay man, ‘cause I like the abuse.” And now, The Offspring have shared the full thing on YouTube – watch it here.
In June, The Offspring announced a new album, ‘Supercharged’, which is set to come out on October 11, and shared the single ‘Make It All Right‘. Holland said: “We wanted this record to have pure energy – from the start to the finish! That’s why we called it SUPERCHARGED. From the height of our aspirations to the depths of our struggles, we talk about it all on this record…in a way that celebrates the life that we share and where we are now.”
Meanwhile, Yungblud told Kelly and Sharon Osbourne earlier this month that he’s going to have a new album out in early 2025, following an NME interview in which he said he was making a Britpop-inspired concept album.
He told NME: “I’m 27 next and for a character like me it’s either death or rebirth,” he said. “This point has been amazing up to now. I’ll never lose what it’s about in terms of Yungblud and the soul of it – but musically, this next album is something I’ve been working on for two years and it’s a fucking adventure. It’s a full concept that you can play from start to finish.
“It’s all about getting through it; it’s positive. It’s that thing in your stomach when you listen to Oasis, or The Verve, or Bowie, or Suede, or Madonna. It makes me feel like I can get up today. It makes me feel like I’m invincible and that I can do anything – that’s what this new album sounds like.”
