Oasis are rumoured to be reforming with only the Gallagher brothers – and no other original members to join.

The band recently fanned the flames for a potential reunion after Liam Gallagher’s Reading Festival headline set, which concluded with the Oasis X/Twitter account posting a mysterious date suggesting some giant news.

The Times also reported on August 24 that the duo are looking likely to reunite in order to play a string of gigs, allegedly planned at the likes of Heaton Park and Wembley Stadium next year.

Now, The Sun is reporting that Oasis could indeed reunite with Noel and Liam finally setting aside their feud for the first time in over 15 years – but don’t get your hopes up on any of the original lineup fully forming.

Sources have told the tabloid that “no other original Oasis member is expected to join the reunion,” with the paper suggesting “the members of Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds will step in for the concerts” instead.

Liam’s Reading performance saw him dedicate ‘Half The World Away’ to “Noel fucking Gallagher” at his Reading headline set, and further stoke rumours of an Oasis reunion earlier this Friday (August 23) at his Leeds headline set: “It is very interesting init? It is a very interesting situation we’ve found ourselves in.”

It also scored a five-star review from Jordan Bassett, who wrote for NME: “Tonight’s gig is excellent, but what makes it truly epochal is what it may represent. In revisiting the past, Liam Gallagher has perhaps ushered in a whole new era. It’s very interesting, innit? It’s a very interesting situation we’ve found ourselves in.”

Fans have reacted to the news of a potential reunion at Reading, with one fan telling us: “I do think an Oasis reunion is closer than we expect”.

Another added: “Both Noel and Liam are on tour at the moment, they’re still producing music… I think they’re going to go for it.”

Some, on the other hand, weren’t quite so optimistic. “It’d be great to see it but the chances of them getting back together today is very unlikely,” one said, while someone else agreed, stating: “I don’t think it’s going to happen. It’s the same thing every year, someone pasts something, it gets taken out of context.”

In other news, Oasis’ reunion will reportedly make more than £400million.
