Paramore have reflected on their Taylor Swift opening support slot for her ‘Eras’ tour and shared: “We love you”.

The ‘Aint It Fun’ hitmakers opened for all 48 Swift’s European shows during the European leg of the pop star’s mammoth ‘Eras’ tour. Yesterday (August 26), the band took to their official Instagram account to thank the ‘Bejeweled’ singer by sharing a photo of themselves with Swift holding a thumbs-up sign.

“Thank you for asking us to be a part of such an incredible moment in your life and career. We loved playing for the Swifties, we loved watching you tell your life story through this show. And we truly fell in love with your whole crew. Congrats on one more leg of this giant, history making tour. We love you! – Paramore,” read the photo’s accompanying caption.

Paramore were announced as openers last year with frontwoman Hayley Williams previously opening up in an interview with Uproxx about her longtime friendship with Swift.

“I mean, we know how rare it is to last this long in the music industry,” Williams said, adding, “It’s amazing what she’s traversed through and not only managed to last, but continue to get better as an artist, get bigger in her appeal.”

She continued: “We’ve been in this for as long and we’ve really survived a lot, whether that is self-inflicted shit or just the industry at large and the world at large.”

Williams then spoke about the opportunity, saying: “To be able to play with an artist like her for me represents how long we’ve been at this, and how much shit we’ve seen. Now, it’s time to have a fun summer.”

Back in June, the ‘Crave’ singer joined Swift on stage to perform a duet of the rarely-performed song ‘Castles Crumbling’. Williams appeared on the studio version of the track too, which was first released on ‘Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)’ in 2023. The performance marked the first time the two performed the track together live on stage.

In other news, during the penultimate show at Wembley Stadium of the European leg of the tour, the ‘Misery Business’ singer took a moment to pay tribute to the late Freddie Mercury by performing his iconic ‘Ayo’ vocal runs from Live Aid.
