Nicki Minaj has teased the deluxe edition of ‘Pink Friday 2’, and what she thinks could be fans’ “favourite song” from the project.

The rapper/singer-songwriter announced the expanded version of her 2023 fifth studio album last week, saying that she “love[s] it so much”. She also confirmed that she’ll be “performing 2-3 songs” from the updated record on her ‘Gag City Reloaded’ tour.

Minaj was later asked how many new tracks the deluxe LP would contain, to which she responded: “I thought 3 was not enough. 7 too many. So… maybe somewhere in between.”

The artist has since answered a range of fan questions X/Twitter, and confirmed that the revamped ‘Pink Friday 2 (Gag City Deluxe)’ will be released on Friday September 13. Pre-order/pre-save here.

Earlier this week, Minaj spoke about a new track she “just can’t stay quiet about”. The rapper continued: “Last night, I recorded what will probably be your favourite song on the deluxe.

“It will immediately go into your TOP 5 of the entire PF2 era. OH MY FREAKING GOODNESSWDRFFHJKGV.”

In a follow-up post, she wrote: “I’m listening to that new song. So I’m hype. 😩.”

A previous update saw Minaj express her excitement for a verse she had just got back for the extended edition of ‘Pink Friday 2’. Additionally, she previewed an upcoming song called ‘Anxiety’ from the project on an Instagram Live broadcast.

The original version of ‘Pink Friday 2’ served as a sequel to Minaj’s 2010 debut album, ‘Pink Friday’.

In a four-star review of the second instalment, NME wrote: “[…] ‘Pink Friday 2’ feels like a consolidation and refinement of everything Minaj can do – including dropping pop culture references that no other artist would think of.

“[…] Thirteen years after ‘Pink Friday’, Nicki Minaj hasn’t lost her ability to catch us by surprise.”

Minaj embarked on the UK and European leg of her ‘Pink Friday 2’ world tour earlier this year, with the stint including a show at The O2 in London. She returned to the capital last month to headline Wireless Festival.

The artist is set to hit the road again in North America next week for her ‘Gag City Reloaded’ dates. You can see the full schedule and find any remaining tickets here.

In other news, Nicki Minaj has been sued by a fan for $5million (£3.7million) for financial and emotional damage.
