nct jaehyun solo album j

NCT singer Jaehyun recently performed songs by Bruno Major, Jeremy Passion and Yoo Jae-ha during an appearance on Lee Mujin Service.

In the latest episode of music talk show Lee Mujin Service, NCT’s Jaehyun appeared as a guest to promote his debut mini-album ‘J’ and its lead single ‘Smoke’. Jaehyun opened the episode with a performance of the new single, before showcasing a string of covers.

His first cover was of Jeremy Passion’s 2019 song ‘Lemonade’. “This show has a very minimal, yet sincere vibe to it. So I picked a song that I think would match the mood here. It feels minimalistic but says everything genuinely, that’s why I liked this song,” Jaehyun said of his song choice.

Elsewhere in the episode, Jaehyun also covered ‘Because I Love You’ by the late singer Yoo Jae-ha and Bruno Major’s ‘Fair-Weather Friend’. During the show, Jaehyun also shared that he often sang songs from Disney movies with his father as a child while his mother and cousin played the piano and flute respectively.

Later, when asked to sing a song that represented his origins, the singer performed a brief rendition of ‘A Whole New World’ from Aladdin. Jaehyun explained that it was the first song he performed in front of a camera for the public when he was revealed as a member of SM Entertainment’s SM Rookies trainee group.

Jaehyun made his solo debut with ‘J’ and lead single ‘Smoke’ earlier this week. Prior to that, the singer dropped two pre-release tracks, ‘Dandelion’ and ‘Roses’ with an accompanying joint music video in the lead-up to his debut.

In other K-pop news, controversial creative director and executive Min Hee-jin has stepped down from her role as CEO of ADOR, home to girl group NewJeans after a months-long public spat with parent company HYBE.
