Jeremy Allen White has opened up about preparations for his upcoming role as Bruce Springsteen in his biopic.

White, who will star in the film Deliver Me From Nowhere (reportedly set around the making of Springsteen’s classic album ‘Nebraska’), has spoken to GQ about how he’s prepared to play the iconic rock legend.

Speaking to the publication, White explained: “I’m really lucky that there’s sort of a team of folks now in place to help young actors portray rock stars. I’ve got a really talented group of people helping me train vocally, musically, to get ready for this thing.”

The actor, who previously revealed he had texted The Boss in the hopes of meeting him in London, also shared that Springsteen was “really supportive of the project”, adding: “I’ve had some access to him and he’s just the greatest guy.”

He went on to share that “there’s just so much footage” of Springsteen, continuing: “It’s really great to go down a YouTube rabbit hole and find him at all these different periods in his life and be able to listen to his speaking voice as well as his singing voice.

“That’s kind of been the deal, just listening to him a lot and watching him a lot. It’s been really fun preparing.”

The Bear star was announced as part of the film in April after Deadline reported that White was the favourite to play a young Springsteen in the movie, which was announced this January.

Scott Cooper (Crazy Heart, Hostiles) has been tapped to write and direct the film, which will adapt Warren Zane’s 2023 novel Deliver Me from Nowhere: The Making of Bruce Springsteen’s Nebraska.

No release date for the film has been announced yet.
