Sydney Sweeney attends the 'Euphoria' season 2 premiere

Sydney Sweeney has opened up about Euphoria‘s return – find out what she had to say below.

In July, it was announced that the highly anticipated third season of HBO‘s hit show Euphoria was set to begin filming in January next year. Now, Sweeney, who starts as Cassie in the series has expressed her feelings about finally getting back into that world.

Speaking to People Magazine in a new interview, Sweeney said: “I’m very excited to jump back into Cassie. She is definitely one of the most special characters for me and I love my Euphoria family, so I look forward to it.”

She added “I love crazy Cassie, so the crazier, the better for me” before confirming that “honestly” doesn’t know “anything” about what will happen in the show’s third season.

Season three will notably have a big task ahead of it, as in between the three-year gap between shoots actor Angus Cloud who played Fez died from an accidental overdose in early August last year.

The new season beginning production in early 2025 means that at the earliest, the show could premiere in late 2025, though a 2026 release seems more likely. Zendaya said in April that the show’s delays were “beyond me”, while Sweeney told NME that while working on Euphoria is “like home when I go back to it”, she doesn’t “know how soon I’m going home”.

In NME’s five-star review of Euphoria season two, Rhian Daly wrote that it “somehow ratchets up the misery even further, bringing nearly all of its major players deeper into its web of suffering.”

Back in March, in an exclusive interview with NME, Sweeney addressed the intense levels of attention she receives online, saying: “There’s not anything I can do.”

When asked if it makes her want to stay off the internet, she replied: “Um, no, I think it’s important to be aware of everything and then use that information however I may well. But I’m just being me, that’s all.”
