London Grammar recently shared their new single âFakest Bitchâ last month which marked the fourth preview of the group’s fourth studio album. The track arrived after London Grammarâs 2024 singles âInto Goldâ, âKind Of Manâ and âHouseâ. Theyâll all appear on the forthcoming âThe Greatest Loveâ, which follows on from 2021âs âCalifornian Soilâ.
This summer has seen London Grammar headline Latitude Festival and top the bill on the Park Stage at Glastonbury 2024. In other news, they delivered a cover of Sabrina Carpenterâs âEspressoâ recently for BBC Radio 1.
Speaking to NME in April 2023, band member Dot Major teased that London Grammar were âdefinitely getting thereâ with their next full-length project. âWeâre all really excited, because itâs been a little while â as it always is with us,â he explained.
Guitarist Dan Rothman told NME in July 2022 that the trio had âbeen working onâ their fourth album throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
Similarly, London Grammar previously hinted in an interview with NME that their next LP could be their âbest one yetâ. At the time, frontwoman Reid said it would contain âa lot of deep, philosophical questions about life, relationships and loveâ.
As for Mayberry, last year, the Chvrches frontwoman embarked on her solo career. Previously speaking to NME about the venture, Mayberry shared: âThereâs always nervousness. For any frontperson in a band, but especially a woman, as soon as you say the words âsolo materialâ people get very upset with you. I feel like every second sentence is, âIâm not breaking up the band, guys, howeverâŠâ
âBut weâre lucky enough to have fans that care so much that they donât want it to break up. I feel grateful, but Iâm trying to be reassuring to them â âJust give us a couple more years guys, itâs going to be fineâ.â
She also shared that her solo material â which she previously described as âfun, freaky, sad, weird, joyfulâ â was easy to compartmentalise as âit was born out of things that I couldnât or wouldnât write in the bandâ.
So far, Mayberry has released three singles, 2023âs âAre You Awakeâ and âShameâ as well as 2024âs âChange Shapesâ.
