Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith

A busker has gone viral after performing one of Red Hot Chili Peppers‘ classic songs, completely unaware that he was being watched by Chad Smith.

The talented drummer, who has been viewed more than 64million times on TikTok, was filmed jamming away on Santa Monicaā€™s Third Street Promenade to a rendition of the bandā€™s 1999 hit song ā€˜Othersideā€™.

Sitting opposite was the band’s drummer nodding along to the busker’s rendition of the track.

The person who captured the moment, captioned the video: ā€œWho wants to tell him?ā€ before adding in the description: ā€œImagine shooting hoops in front of Michael Jordan and not even realising it?ā€

The drummer himself, Armond Davis, later shared the video on his own TikTok page and admitted that he didnā€™t know that Smith was watching him.

ā€œYesterday, I played ā€˜Othersideā€™ by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and halfway through, I noticed someone really vibing which isnā€™t unusual,” he wrote.

“But when I finished, a few people told me Iā€™d just played for Chad Smith, the drummer of RHCP. Hearing him say I sounded good on a track heā€™s known for? Completely surreal. I canā€™t wait to see where this journey takes me next!ā€

Earlier this year, Oasis guitarist BoneheadĀ gifted a busker in Glasgow tickets to one of Liam Gallagher‘s ā€˜Definitely Maybeā€™ anniversary shows in the city after they performed the band’s 1994 hit ā€˜Half The World Awayā€™.

Dua Lipa also reacted to a busker who performed to her while at this yearā€™s Glastonbury Festival.

Elsewhere, Chad Smith recently made an appearance at Ozzy Osbourne‘s induction into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame.

During the ceremony at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland, Ohio, a tribute to the singerā€™s solo career was performed byĀ Billy Idol,Ā Tool‘s Maynard James Keenan, and country artist Jelly Roll, alongside a backing band comprised of bassist Rob Trujillo, Zakk Wylde,Ā Wolfgang Van Halen and Smith.
