Adele has revealed that she’s a fan of the “absolutely amazing” Chappell Roan – see what Adele had to say about the fast-rising pop star below.
While performing in Munich on Wednesday (August 14), Adele spoke of her week so far while standing out in the rain: “Chappell Roan is her name, yes?” Adele said. “I heard a song a little while ago at my birthday, and I loved it, and it was one of my friend’s playlists. And then, I went down a rabbit hole on Monday. All day long.”
While Adele did not share which of Roan’s songs she heard, she continued: “She is spectacular, and it turns out, she’s not just got one song. She’s got, like, seven fucking brilliant songs. I think she’s absolutely amazing. I’m very excited for her, but my friend also said she’s a bit scared. So, do what you gotta do, baby girl, but you’re phenomenal. Anyway, that’s all I’ve done this week is discover Chappell Roan.”

Adele only has a handful of shows left for her Munich residency on August 16, 23, 24, 30 and 31. You can find any remaining tickets for the shows here.
NME The Cover star Chappell Roan released her debut studio album, ‘The Rise And Fall Of A Midwest Princess’, last September. In a four-star review, NME described it as “a display of Roan’s bold and brazen pen, where she places searing revelations alongside some deliciously cheeky choruses”.
Her rapid rise to fame has now seen her achieve her first UK Number One album almost a year after its release, which Elton John congratulated her on recently.
However, with Roan’s star rising rapidly over the last few months, it has charged up three places to the top spot on the Official UK Albums Chart, just ahead of Charli XCX’s ‘Brat’, Taylor Swift’s ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ and Billie Eilish’s ‘Hit Me Hard and Soft’.
Roan has also recent been open about the drawbacks over her meteoric rise to fame, and expressed wanting to “[pump] the brakes” on it after fans gave off “stalker vibes”. Speaking on the latest episode of the Comment Section podcast with Drew Afualo, Roan said: “People have started to be freaks — like, [they] follow me and know where my parents live, and where my sister works. All this weird shit.”
Roan recalled: “This is the time when a few years ago when I said that if [there were] stalker vibes or my family was in danger, I would quit. And we’re there. We’re there! I’m just kind of in this battle… I’ve pumped the brakes on, honestly, anything to make me more known. It’s kind of a forest fire right now. I’m not trying to go do a bunch of shit.”
