André 3000 has announced a new wave of tour dates for his recent experimental flute album ‘New Blue Sun’.

The Outkast rapper recently dropped a surprise 87-minute long project in November last year, his first solo album in 17 years.

Now following his US tour earlier this year, André 3000 has announced a fresh series of tours in the US, which will take place this autumn. Beginning in September, André will kick off in New Orleans’ Orpheum Theatre, visiting a host of new cities including Houston, Seattle, Vancouver and Salt Lake City.

He will then conclude his new tour with a date in Atlanta’s Fox Theatre on November 14. See all dates below – tickets go on sale today (June 26) at 10am CDT (11am EST and 4pm BST), so buy yours here:

André 3000 has also been confirmed for some European festivals, including Øyafestival and All Points East. He’s also joining We Out Here 2024 alongside SamphaCorinne Bailey Rae and more.

He has previously opened up about the reason why he made an ambient flute album, and not a rap album, reasoning: “Sometimes it feels inauthentic for me to rap because I don’t have anything to talk about in that way. I’m 48 years old. And not to say that age is a thing that dictates what you rap about, but in a way it does.”

“And things that happen in my life, like, what are you talking about?” he continued. “‘I got to go get a colonoscopy’. What are you rapping about? ‘My eyesight is going bad’. You can find cool ways to say it, but….”

Elsewhere, André 3000 has said a collaboration with SAULT is on the cards, revealing that he has spent time in the studio with the mysterious collective, while Ja Rule has said that he’s “heartbroken” that André 3000 doesn’t want to rap anymore.
