Assassin's Creed Games In Order: Eivor can be seen

Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla has a new option for a graphical update, but it’s a controversial one because it comes in the form of a paid mod.

Post-launch support for Valhalla ended back in December 2022 with the release of The Last Chapter, so the only place fans can look toward for new additions to the Viking-inspired RPG game are mods. Normally, creators release mods for free, fueled purely by passion and a desire not to get sued for profiting off of a company’s IP. But, sometimes, modders will put their work up on Patreon so people have to pay them a monthly fee to access the mods.

That’s what happened with the ACV Upscaler FSR3 Build 01, a mod spotted by GamingBible. This mod “enables DLSS/FSR/XeSS upscaling and FSR3 Frame Generation” in Valhalla, essentially meaning the game could run at much more smoothly, even for those with older machines and substandard GPUs.

This mod is available via creator PureDark’s Patreon. You have to link you Discord account to Patreon, sign up, and then join PureDark’s Discord server. Starfield players recently review bombed the game on Steam due to the developer including paid mods in a new update. Things are different with Valhalla because this mod is coming directly from a modder, not the developers, but many people sitll don’t like paying for non-professional additions to games they have already paid for.

The latest game in the Assassin’s Creed series is Shadows. It’s set in Sengoku-era Japan and will feature dual protagonists, shinobi Assassin Naoe and African samurai Yasuke, a real historical figure from the era. Naoe embodies the stealthy gameplay fans have come to expect of the series, while Yasuke relies more on his strength.

In other news, Elden Ring director Hidetaka Miyazaki knows you use guides, but he isn’t mad at you.
