The singer-songwriter and producer recently told NME about the time she asked The Chemical Brothersā Tom Rowlands to āpuke vomit all overā a song on the album.
āWe feel like two little aliens walking around, and we have the same hunger for something exceptional,ā she said when discussing her work with Rowlands. āIām really grateful. I texted him one evening just saying, āTom ā puke vomit all over my song pleaseā. And he did, for like four hours.ā
She also expanded on the record’s title and themes, saying: āPeople knew that love is [in the heart], family is here, pain in here; weāve known this for so many years. In ancient indigenous cultures, the heart was a symbol of spirituality: the gateway between us all.
āBut what happened to the heart? Itās the most important, beautiful and sad question Iāve ever wondered in my life.ā
