‘You Need To Exist: A Book To Love and Destroy!’ arrives later this summer

Yungblud has today (April 12) announced that he’s written an “immersive” new book.

The musician announced the book on X/Twitter saying “I wrote a book – what the fuck?!”

Yungblud said he was “excited” about the new book and said “it wasn’t just an ordinary book” but a “completely immersive” book that encourages readers to “face the shit that terrifies” them.

The book, called You Need To Exist: A Book To Love and Destroy! contains poems written by Yungblud along with some autobiographical stories. He also encouragers people to read the book, write in it as well as “throw it across the room.”

A synopsis explains: “For most of us that is the hardest question in the world. This book is designed to help guide you on a journey to find out. To confess what you love about yourself, destroy your deepest insecurities and face your darkest fears.

“This is a book to rip, draw, burn, bury and create. A book that will end up in tatters if you do it right. This is a book of you. So, I’ll ask you again… Who are you? It’s time to find out.”

The book is available to pre-order here and is released on August 15.

Last month, Yungblud defended his new festival, BludFest, from people who have questioned the intent behind the event.

The Doncaster artist announced the event with a free show in Camden Market on March 18, confirming that it will be headed to Milton Keynes Bowl on Sunday 11 August – featuring a headline set from Yungblud alongside a line-up featuring recent collaborator Lil Yachty, as well as Soft PlayNessa BarrettThe DamnedLola YoungJazmin Bean and many more to be announced. Notably, tickets will be priced at £49.50.

In a video posted to his social media, Yungblud responded to the criticisms of a TikTok user named James who questioned how true the artist’s intent was when he announced the ticket price for BludFest and declared, “Fuck the corporate bullshit!”

“Every now and then this narrative rears its head on the internet that kind of depicts that I’ve had everything given to me, I do nothing at all and I’m this completely massive industry plant who had everything given to him,” Yungblud began.

“That is crazy to me because that is not the case. Everything I do, every idea I have, is literally probably run from a kitchen table with these four people,” he continued, moving his phone camera to show four others sitting in the room alongside him. “We just figure out if we can make it happen.”

Yungblud also spoke to NME about his decision to keep ticket prices low.

“I am not ignorant that people come and go to fanbases,” he said. “I’ve done it to many artists – but I want Yungblud to be a constant in people’s lives. If you want to turn to it and feel that feeling again, it’s there all the time. I’m going to do this every year and I hope everyone comes from everywhere. That’s why we’ve kept the ticket prices as low as we can.

He continued: “It’s about £50 for 10 or more bands, all in. That is it; we’re not even making money – we’re just doing it for the fucking tunes. I’m excited. It’s all about saying ‘thank for this moment’. I’ve had so many arguments about the price-point but that’s it.”

Check out our full interview with Yungblud here, where he also discussed taking stock of his career so far, how he built his community of fans, his online spat with The 1975 frontman Matty Healy,  and what to expect from his “positive” new concept album inspired by Oasis, The Verve, Bowie, Suede and Madonna.

‘The Big Bang Theory’ fans want Micheal Keaton to play an older Sheldon

“I would be so excited to have Michael Keaton added to the lineage of Sheldon portrayers,” Jim Parsons said

The post ‘The Big Bang Theory’ fans want Micheal Keaton to play an older Sheldon appeared first on NME.

NME

The Big Bang Theory fans want to see Micheal Keaton to play an older version of character Sheldon Cooper and now Jim Parsons has responded.

The actor, who starred as the theoretical physicist on the long-running series and also serves as an executive producer and narrator for its spinoff Young Sheldon, responded to news of the fan-casting on The Tonight Show earlier this week (April 8).

Host Jimmy Fallon brought up a side-by-side image of young Keaton and Iain Armitage, who plays young Sheldon in the show.

“It is interesting. There’s definitely a resemblance,” Parsons agreed. “The one thing I will say is Michael Keaton — that really looks like Michael Keaton still, doesn’t it?”

When Fallon mooted the idea that fans wanted an ‘Older Sheldon spinoff “with the actual Michael Keaton playing Sheldon,” Parsons quickly shot down the idea.

“Let me tell you this: I doubt that’s going to happen,” he said. “But I would be so excited to have Michael Keaton added to the lineage of Sheldon portrayers. I would be amazed.”

Parsons went on to say he’s a huge fan of Keaton. “Oh, I’ve admired that man my entire life, starting with Mr. Mom,” he explained. “I mean, what a great guy. He’s a wonderful actor.”

You can watch the interview here:

Last month, it was revealed that two stars from The Big Bang Theory will reprise their roles for the series finale of Young Sheldon.

To celebrate the event of the series coming to an end after a seven-season run, Parsons and his co-star Mayim Bialik will return as the adult version of Cooper and Amy Farrah Fowler on the show’s final episode which will air on May 16.

Speaking about Young Sheldon‘s final season, executive producer Steve Holland said: “There are certain things we know happen in Sheldon’s life at 14. We started talking about the future of show and what it looked like. This is the right time for this story to come to an end, knowing that at 14, he goes off to Cal Tech. It felt like the right time to end it strong while it was on top,” (per The Independent).

The appearance of the two stars will also mark the first time that Parsons and Bialik will be seen together since the finale of The Big Bang Theory in 2019. The following year, A producer on sitcom revealed that the show had planned to continue for another two years before Parsons quit.

The Big Bang Theory first aired in 2007 and ran for 12 seasons, ending in 2019. The series also starred Johnny Galecki, Kaley Cuoco, Kunal Nayyar and Simon Helberg.

Young Sheldon is available to stream on Netflix in the UK.

Comedians Jon Richardson and Lucy Beaumont have separated after nine years of marriage the pair revealed in a statement today (April 12).

In the statement, the couple said they had “jointly and amicably made the difficult decision to divorce and go our separate ways”.

They continued: “As our only priority is managing this difficult transition for our daughter, we would ask that our privacy is respected at this sensitive time to protect her well-being.

“We will be making no further comment.”

The couple have starred together Meet The Richardsons since 2020. The mockumentary sees them play “exaggerated versions of themselves”.

The duo also starred together on several outings of Celebrity Gogglebox.

Beaumont was nominated in 2023 for a BAFTA TV award for Best Female Performance for her part in Meet The Richardsons. She also appeared on panel shows such as Have I Got News For You as well as comedy game show Taskmaster.

Richardson was previously a team captain on 8 Out Of 10 Cats and launched the panel show Jon Richardson: Ultimate Worrier, which ran on Dave for two seasons.

He also previously co-hosted with Russell Howard on BBC Radio 6 Music.

Speaking about the latest series of their show, Beaumont said: “I think this is the best one, to be honest. Every series we’ve got better and better.”

The couple have previously discussed the challenges of working together, with Richardson saying: “To give us some credit, I think we are really good at what is quite an intense thing you know, working together on a project that does take the full year to write the series film the series, edit it and promote it.”

“We’re always working on it and to balance that amongst still maintaining a private life isn’t easy, and I think we’re really good at it.

“There’s times obviously it’s difficult because marriage is difficult anyway, you know, I could be a dentist and you know, Lucy could be a teacher and marriage is just difficult. So this extra element doesn’t make it any easier. But I do think we’re actually quite good.”

Kyle MacLachlan sent “sweetest” video to a Twin Peaks mega fan at the request of his  Fallout co-star, Ella Purnell.

Speaking to NME, Purnell revealed that she’d left it late to get her friend – who was a huge fan of the show – a Christmas gift and so asked MacLachlan if he’d be able to make him a video instead – and he agreed.

“He’s just so so so sweet. He’s the most kind and generous person, as well as actor. I have so many stories about Kyle,” Purnell explained.

“I have a really really good friend who is a huge Twin Peaks fan. I got him for Secret Santa and so I asked Kyle if he would do a video. I never do stuff like this but honestly I didn’t buy a present and I’d left it to the last minute and panicked – that’s what really happened – and Kyle made him the sweetest video – it’s about two minutes, he puts on a suit – just for this video – like what a nice guy!

“He makes all these Twin Peaks references, ‘Damn good cup of coffee!’, and then he sends it over to me. My friend cried his eyes out – he was a mess. I just think that was the sweetest thing in the whole world. Such a nice guy.”

The highly anticipated television adaptation of the video game franchise, Fallout, arrived on Prime Video this week.

Following the massive success of video game adaptations such as The Last Of Us, the popular post-apocalyptic game set in 1950s USA has now been recreated for TV.

With its first game released in 1997, the franchise spans four games, released over almost two decades, with Fallout 4 being released in 2015.

As well as the four main games, there have been several spin-offs, beginning with Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood Of Steel, which was released in 2001.

Now, the franchise has made its way onto television screens, with all eight-episode available to watch now on Prime Video. Starring in the series alongside Purnell and MacLachan are Walton Goggins and Moisés Arias, among others.

The game also became known for its iconic soundtrack, and the TV series is no different. Containing a range of genres, and featuring tracks from Johnny Cash, Bing Crosby and The Ink Spots, the soundtrack encapsulates the variety of music in the US in the 1950s. You can check out all the songs on the soundtrack here.

Fallout is available on Amazon Prime now.

Director Guy Ritchie has said Henry Cavill “always” stands up when a woman enters the room.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter about their new film The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, Ritchie explained what made the group of men in the film “un-gentlemanly” before sharing that Cavill was the opposite of this, standing up whenever a woman enters the room.

Ritchie said: “Henry Cavill stands up whenever a lady walks in the room. He’s been consistent with that all the way through. I’ve made two movies with him. You have never failed to stand up when a lady walks in.”

Cavill replied: “There you go!” before changing subjects to discuss one of his cast mates.

Directed by Guy Ritchie, the action-comedy is inspired by the true story of the first-ever special forces organisation formed during World War II by UK prime minister Winston Churchill, which helped change the course of the war.

A synopsis reads: “The top-secret combat unit, composed of a motley crew of rogues and mavericks, goes on a daring mission against the Nazis using entirely unconventional and utterly ‘ungentlemanly’ fighting techniques.

“Ultimately their audacious approach changed the course of the war and laid the foundation for the British SAS and modern Black Ops warfare.”

Cavill leads the cast as Gus March-Phillips, opposite Eiza González, Alan Ritchson, Alex Pettyfer, Hero Fiennes Tiffin, Babs Olusamokun, Henrique Zaga, Til Schweiger, Henry Golding and Cary Elwes.

Along with directing, Ritchie has co-written the screenplay with Paul Tamasy, Eric Johnson and Arash Amel. He also serves as a producer, alongside Jerry Bruckheimer, Chad Oman, Ivan Atkinson and John Friedberg.

This marks Cavill’s second collaboration with Ritchie following 2015’s The Man From U.N.C.L.E. He’s also set to reunite with the director on a third currently untitled action film.

It also marks Ritchie’s third film within the past twelve months, following Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre and The Covenant starring Jake Gyllenhaal. The director also debuted a TV spin-off of The Gentleman on Netflix in March this year.

The Ministry Of Ungentlemanly Warfare is released in cinemas on April 19, 2024.
