Billie Eilish

Billie Eilish has teased the arrival of brand new music with a video teaser shared to social media.

The artist has been building anticipation for a new drop in recent days, including hinting at a possible new album by adding all her followers to her ‘Close Friends’ Story on Instagram.

On that Story she shared an image of a single door half-open along with some mid-air droplets, which fans think could be new album cover art.

It came after a series of billboards appeared to tease Eilishā€™s forthcoming new album in major cities across the world.

Her latest clue arrives today (April 8) in a video clip featuring the singer sinking in a murky body of water, before a hand emerges from out of frame to pull her out.

The clip features a heartbeat sound before the entrance of an electronic keyboard tune and vocalising from the singer.

The clip is simply captioned: “READY?”

A series of other teasers came on her ‘Close Friends’ Instagram Story. Late yesterday (April 7), the singer wrote: “I’m telling you something tomorrow.”

It was followed by a selfie of her with the words : ā€œI promise.ā€

Eilish also added a series of reactions to her ‘Close Friends’ story, including one which read: “I’m about to become the most annoying person ever when this album drops.”

Another previous teaser on her story were the words ‘Hit Me’, which appears to be a single name.

As for the mysterious new Billboards, Eilishā€™s team used a similar tactic in 2021 to tease the release of her second full-length album, ā€˜Happier Than Everā€™.

Back in February, Eilish revealed that her forthcoming third album is mastered, signifying that it is complete. Before that, she also confirmed the album was ā€œalmost done,ā€Ā and that fans will know more ā€œat some point.ā€

Last year, the pop singer opened up about what had changed in the creative process while working on her third album.

ā€œEverything is different about it,ā€ she said of the music making process while appearing as a guest onĀ Dua Lipaā€˜sĀ At Your ServiceĀ podcast. ā€œIā€™ve been trying to compare recently, just because Iā€™m getting used to doing it in a different way. And trying to be like, ā€˜Itā€™s OK to do that. Iā€™m OK. Iā€™m still able to do that; Iā€™m capable still.ā€™ā€
