Billie Eilish

Billie Eilish has shared a snippet of her forthcoming new single ‘My Future’ – you can listen to it below.

The ‘Bad Guy’ singer announced last week that the song would be arriving this Thursday (July 30), though it remains unclear whether it will appear on her highly-anticipated second album.

Yesterday, (July 28) Eilish posted the animated cover for the single, which depicts the pop star looking up at a full moon as she sits under a tree. Writing in the caption, she confirmed that ‘My Future’ will land at 4pm (PT)/ midnight (BST).

“I can’t wait for this song to be yours,” she said of the track on Instagram Stories.

Tonight (July 29), Eilish teased fans further by uploading a clip of ‘My Future’ to her feed. “Can’t you hear me?/ I’m not coming home/ Do you understand?/ I’ve changed my plans“, she sings.

The track is set to be Eilish’s first new music since her record-breaking Bond theme ‘No Time To Die’, which followed up on last year’s ‘Everything I Wanted’.

The singer confirmed back in January that she would be recording a new album and releasing a documentary in 2020. No release date has been confirmed for either yet, though she did offer some insight into the film.

“I’ve seen no part of it,” she said. “I’m freaked out. They’ve been filming since like July of 2018 … Who has that much footage of them that they’ve never seen? I’m terrified.”

Meanwhile, Eilish has revealed which songs were most important to her growing up. She listed songs by Britney SpearsAvril Lavigne and The Beatles as essential to her childhood – particularly Lavigne’s ‘Losing Grip’.

“This is my favourite Avril song ever, a very big song from my childhood as well as ‘Complicated’, as well as ‘I’m With You’, as well as ‘Sk8er Boi’, ‘Girlfriend’, blah, blah, blah, ‘Keep Holding On’,” Eilish told me & dad radio on Apple Music.
