The band put the call out on their social media channels, linking to a Google Form offering more details on the project.
âAre you stuck at home?â the page reads. “This is an unprecedented time thatâs got everyone wishing for happy days, so we had an idea. Letâs make a music video to show how youâre spending your social distancing time.

âHappy Daysâ features on the bandâs latest album âNineâ, which was released in September 2019. In a four-star review, NME said: âA spiritual follow up to 2003âs âUntitledâ, âNineâ sees the trio as confident adventurers. Dealing with the ideas of despair, loneliness and longing, the record doesnât shy away from the shadows but youâre never far from a dash of hope.â
Earlier this month, bassist Mark Hoppus discussed his familyâs decision to self-isolate. “This whole thing is scary and unknown,” he said. “The three of us are thankfully healthy and strong but we have family members who are older and have compromised immune systems.
“We have dear friends with compromised immune systems. There are people weâve never met who would not be able to fight the virus, so we are doing our part to slow the spread.”
Meanwhile, a YouTuber has reworked one of The Killersâ biggest songs in the style of Blink-182. User SugarpillCovers shared a new take on the track, which saw the track re-done as a pop-punk song with Brandon Flowersâ normal vocals over the top.
