âIt was literally the first one I wrote after the last record,â frontman Tom Ogden told NME at Boardmasters Festival. âWe always loved it but we didnât know what we were gonna do with it. So when it came around to doing something new we knew we needed to put it out.â
âI wrote it the way Iâd write any other song,â he explained, âbut I do feel itâs the furthest weâve dipped our toe into that disco world â and we are massive fans of stuff like that.
âIt has real strings on it, and that gives it a real step into ABBA and Bee Gees; all that â70s stuff has real strings on it. It reminds me of âYou To Me Are Everythingâ by The Real Thing; I always loved that tune.â
When asked about the band’s new album, Ogden added: âIâm not sure what I can actually say.
âOK, we have done an album,â Ogden went on to admit, âweâre just working out the fine details.â
Earlier this month Blossoms were forced to postpone their upcoming European tour dates due to continuing concerns over the COVID pandemic.
The band had been due to perform a number of dates in Germany, France, Belgium and the Netherlands later this month and into February.
The band, who said they were âreally guttedâ about the postponement, said that they were âlooking to reschedule the dates and will announce as soon as we have more newsâ.
