rm bts right people wrong place documentary film

BTS rapper RM is set to release a documentary film called RM: Right People, Wrong Place, named after his May solo album.

According to a press release on September 4, the movie is set to “explore the candid journey of BTS’ leader RM as he navigates the complexities of being a global superstar and the person Kim Nam-joon [RM’s given name].” The press release also noted that the film will “chronicle the eight months leading up to RM’s military enlistment”.

RM: Right People, Wrong Place will be primarily set in the locations where “RM intensely worked on his album”, taking viewers “on a journey through Seoul, Tokyo and London, offering an in-depth look at the creative process behind RM’s second solo album”.

Lee Seok-jun, who previously worked with BTS bandmate J-hope on his music videos for solo songs ‘Arson’ and ‘More’, will be the director behind RM’s upcoming solo feature film. RM: Right People, Wrong Place has also been selected for a premiere at this year’s Busan International Film Festival (BIFF). Watch the trailer for the film here:

While a specific release date for its global theatrical release has yet to be announced, film distributor CJ 4DPLEX has confirmed that it will hit theatres sometime “later this year”. Ticket sales for the film’s BIFF screening will also be announced at a later stage.

In other RM news, the musician was announced as a feature on Megan Thee Stallion’s upcoming single ‘Neva Play’. “This is one of my favourite RM verses I’ve heard! I’ve never heard him rap in this style before,” she wrote of the track in its announcement. The song is due out this Friday (September 6).
