Call of Duty: Black Ops 6‘s release is fast approaching, and we now have concrete details about the game’s beta, which will allow players to test out the game’s multiplayer.

‘Call of Duty: Black Ops 6’ beta dates

A private Call of Duty Black Ops 6 beta will take place between August 30, 2024 and September 4, 2024, for those who pre-order the game on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC or subscribe to Game Pass. A public beta will then be available to everyone between September 6, 2024, and September 9, 2024, on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.

This is the first time in more than a decade that everyone on all platforms will be able to experience the beta at the same time. Previously, marketing deals between Activision and Sony or Activision and Microsoft gave PlayStation or Xbox players early access. Now that Microsoft owns Activision, they are letting everyone experience the same game at the same time.

What content will be in the ‘Call of Duty Black Ops 6’ beta?

The Call of Duty Black Ops 6 beta will offer a handful of multiplayer maps and modes ahead of the full release of the game. Exact details haven’t been announced yet but should be revealed during the Call of Duty Next showcase on August 28, 2024. This will come alongside the announcement of what beta rewards will be available for players who participate.

Features like the new Omnimovement will be available in the beta, and we should get a feel for just how radical of a change it will make to the gameplay.

Do you need PS Plus and Xbox Game Pass Core to play the ‘Call of Duty Black Ops 6’ beta?

You will not need a PS Plus subscription to play the Call of Duty Black Ops 6 beta, unles you are in Germany, where it is required due to the game’s age rating. Xbox players will need an Xbox Game Pass Core subscription however, as it offers multiplayer access to online games.
