Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is shaping up to be the most exciting game in the series for years. With Treyarch being given four years to work on the game, everything is looking spectacular, including Warzone.

Activision showed off a bunch of gameplay for Warzone and its new map at COD Next and we have everything you need to know here. From loadout changes, cosmetic changes, the addition of a dedicated melee slot, to a breakdown of the new Resurgence map. Everything you need to know about Warzone in this year’s game ahead of the Call of Duty Black Ops 6 release date is below.

Will ‘Call of Duty: Black Ops 6’ have ‘Warzone’?

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will have complete Warzone integration as with previous Call of Duty games in recent years. This integration will launch with Season 1 of the game.

In an interview with Screenrant, Treyarch confirmed the integration and announced that systems like the new Omnimovement will be integrated, completely changing how the battle royale plays. Additionally, all your weapons, camos, operator skins, and unlocks from previous games and Warzone will be usable in the battle royale. However, they will not be usable in Black Ops 6 multiplayer. The premium new game is a fresh start. Your skins and weapons from Black Ops 6 will be usable in Warzone, however.

‘Call of Duty: Black Ops 6’s ‘Warzone’ Area 99 map

Area 99 is the new Warzone Resurgence map launching with Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Season 1 shortly after October 25, 2024. It is located in the Nevada desert and tells the story of where the famous Black Ops map Nuketown was created, with manufacturing facilities building the mannequins and pods where workers used to live.

As a Resurgence map, Area 99 is smaller than the bigger battle royale maps in the game, offering a more intense, close-quarters experience.

‘Warzone’ Area 99 map POIs

The Area 99 map in Warzone has 10 POIs. They are: Bunker, Cooling Towers, Loading Bay, Mannequin Assembly, Manufacturing, Nuketown Shipping, Pods, Reactor Test Site, and Warehouse.

You can see a detailed breakdown of those POIs below:

Bunker

This deep, undergorund bunker is one of the tightest areas in Area 99. Almost entirely underground, the Bunker is an intense area where you will always need to be on guard. Besides a few loading bays as exits, you will want to know your way around so you don’t get lost in its maze-like pathways.

Cooling Towers

Spread out in the corner of the map are the cooling towers of Area 99. These large buildings offer great long-range opportunities for picking off your enemies across each of the towers. However, there is little cover, and a good sniper will be able to pick you off from the roof of one of the buildings. So, watch your back.

Loading Bay

The Loading Bay is dominated by large facilities, buildings, and work areas. In the centre of the point of interest is a large crane, which can be accessed and used as a sniping point, alongside the suspended Nuketown house in the middle of the area. It is one of the more dense points in Area 99.

Mannequin Assembly

The dozens and dozens of Nuketown mannequins – they were all birthed in the Mannequin Assembly in Area 99. Full of close-quarters rooms, you will fight in-between machinery and the mannequins that have been abandoned.

Manufacturing

The Manufacturing area has tons of makeshift Nuketown houses to fight through in varied states of construction, offering both close-range fights and sniper lanes to pick people off. This is an indoor area, entirely filled with prefabricated buildings and rooms offering up long halls, tight condensed areas, and ample cover.

Nuketown Shipping

Nuketown shipping is found along the eastern side of the map. This area is a set of old Nuketown dwellings and remains. Some are still on flatbed trucks, and others are fully built. The boneyard of buried homes offers a lot of long-range fights, as you fight between the dunes and half-finished houses.

Pods

The Pods area are where workers of Area 99 used to live. Suspended above ground, these vertically stacked pods offer cat-&-mouse-style gameplay and opportunities that aren’t available in other areas of the map. These pods also allow for excellent sniping spots that keep you out of the way of the fights taking place on the ground.

Reactor

Reactor is a circular indoor area filled with pathways, coridoors, and entrances to quickly escape or to dart in and grab some gear. It is located at the very centre of the map. There is also a flooded section you can explore, alongside nuclear waste, which you will probably want to stay away from.

Test Site

The Test Site is where highly dangerous technology was tested before being used. Viewing stations offer a great sniping or camping position, while the actual area of the tests themselves is favoured for more close-range gunfights, although you are still out in the open here compared to some of the other points of interest.

Warehouse

The Warehouse is another dense location in the south of the map. This building is filled with interior decorations from Nuketown, walls, and even the famous Nuketown sign. Like the other indoor areas, the Warehouse prioritizes close-range fights.

‘Call of Duty: Black Ops 6’ ‘Warzone’ global weapon builds

Global weapon builds allow you to create a loadout that will carry across Multiplayer, Zombies, and Warzone. The same goes for Gunsmith creations, attachments you equip on a weapon, and your blueprints. You will be able to use your favourite build in every mode and simply load it from your saved loadouts.

You don’t have to start from scratch. Cosmetics are also carried over between all of the modes, including your camo, reticle, accessories, decals, and stickers. On top of that, emotes and sprays are coming to Warzone with Black Ops 6 intergration.

If you are eliminated, your Pick-3 Perks will be dropped, and they can be looted by your allies or enemies. You can also loot additional perks throughout a match to go beyond the initial three limit at the beginning of the game, with Specalist remaining in the game too.
