Cardi B has responded to political figure Candice Owens’ call to ban pornography, questioning why she is “so against porn”.
Last week, Owens took to X/Twitter to demand that porn should become illegal due to it being “a psychological weapon intended to weaken our men”.
In since-deleted tweets, the Bronx rapper commented under a repost of the right-wing commentator’s tweet that she was confused as to why adult content was a bad thing.

“Ommmggg, why y’all so against porn?” she wrote. “Is that that bad for y’all? I enjoy it but, I don’t know. I guess is like a six-times-a-year thing. I personally don’t feel no connection or addiction to it, just a quick little one-two. [Porn’s] NOTHING LIKE REAL INTIMACY!”
In a follow-up comment, she added that erotic material shouldn’t “weaken” men, but “teach [them] how to please a woman.”

Cardi B has often courted controversy due to her sex-positive approach to music. Her and Megan Thee Stallion’s 2020 hit ‘WAP’ received a lot of backlash due to the track’s vulgar lyrics. Public figures such as Snoop Dogg, Russell Brand and right-wing commentator Ben Shapiro all criticised the song – the latter joked that the song was “what feminists fought for”.
Thee Stallion and Cardi performed ‘WAP’ at the 2021 Grammy Awards. According to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), more than 1000 people complained about their raunchy performance because many thought the segment was “obscene” and “pornographic”.
The lead singer of the Christian rock band Skillet, John Cooper, compared the performance to the speeches of Adolf Hitler. Also, he mentioned that “there are certain Dr Seuss books” that are banned for being “too evil” and saw no difference in Cardi and Megan’s alleged on-stage “sexual degradation.”
The ‘Bodak Yellow’ star did reply to the criticism at the time, saying: “The Grammys are PG, that means parental guidance, meaning [it’s] your job – like it is to mine to my child – to monitor what they watch.”
In recent news, Cardi B is gearing up to release her long-awaited second album, which will come six years after she dropped her 2018 Grammy Award-winning debut ‘Invasion Of Privacy’.
Cardi B has already shared some singles that will supposedly on her next album. Earlier this year, she released ‘Enough (Miami)’ and ‘Like What (Freestyle)’ – the latter sampling Missy Elliott’s 1999 hit ‘She’s A Bitch’. Both singles will appear on the ‘Bodak Yellow’ star’s upcoming LP.
Additionally, other singles such as 2022’s ‘Hot Shit’ featuring Lil Durk and Kanye West, her 2020 chart-topping controversial hit with Megan Thee Stallion ‘WAP’, and the upbeat 2021 single ‘UP’ will apparently feature on the album.
Recently, Cardi B revealed that she believed she paved the way for the recent wave of women in rap. “These labels [were] not believing in repping new rap artists,” the 31-year-old said. “People from every single label have fucking told me this shit in my face. They started signing new female rappers after I got signed.”
In other news, Megan Thee Stallion and GloRilla teased that Cardi B will feature on the remix to their viral duet ‘Wanna Be’. They made the announcement while the New Yorker joined them at Thee Stallion’s sold-out headline show at Madison Square Garden.
