Chappell Roan

Chappell Roan marked the one-year anniversary of her hit song ‘Hot To Go’ at Outside Lands Festival this weekend.

During her set at the San Francisco festival on Sunday night (August 11), she marked the occasion by wearing the same blue outfit that she does in the video, performing the song to a packed out crowd.

Before launching into the dance from the hit song, the NME The Cover star made note of the fans who weren’t joining in, saying: “It’s so weird that VIP thinks they’re so way too cool to do this! You’re not fun! Be fun and try!”

Similarly to her recent Lollapalooza set, which is among the festival’s most-attended in history, fans flocked to see her. SFGATE reported that fans were lining up from 5 am to secure a spot at the main Lands End stage, with The San Francisco Standard declaring her “Outside Lands’ true headliner”.

Chappell Roan played at Outside Lands Festival 2024:

‘Femininomenon’
‘Naked in Manhattan’
‘Super Graphic Ultra Modern Girl’
‘HOT TO GO!’
‘After Midnight’
‘Casual’
‘The Subway’
‘Red Wine Supernova’
‘Good Luck, Babe!’
‘My Kink Is Karma’
‘Pink Pony Club’

Her rapid rise to fame has now seen her achieve her first UK Number One album with ‘The Rise And Fall Of A Midwest Princess’ almost a year after its release, which Elton John congratulated her on recently.

The album was first released last September, and while the long-awaited debut LP of the Missouri pop singer did well on the US charts the first time around, it had less of an impact in the UK.

However, with Roan’s star rising rapidly over the last few months, it has charged up three places to the top spot on the Official UK Albums Chart, just ahead of Charli XCX’s ‘Brat’, Taylor Swift’s ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ and Billie Eilish’s ‘Hit Me Hard and Soft’.
