Courteeners have announced that Mystery Jets will be joining them at select dates on their 2024 UK arena tour.

Liam Fray and co. are due to hit the road this November in support of their seventh album ‘Pink Cactus Café’, which is released on October 25 via Ignition (pre-order/pre-save here).

DMA’s will serve as the main support act at the forthcoming shows, except London.

Now, it has been confirmed that Mystery Jets will also be appearing as special guest openers in Glasgow, Manchester, Cardiff and Birmingham. They are not scheduled to appear at Courteeners’ gigs in London and Leeds.

Sharing the news on social media, Mystery Jets wrote: ‘We are pumped to announce we will be hitting the big boy rooms with @courteeners and @dmasmusic this autumn 🔥.” See that post below.

Courteeners’ 2024 UK headline tour dates are:

NOVEMBER
14 – OVO Hydro, Glasgow (with DMA’s and Mystery Jets)
15 – Co-op Live, Manchester (with DMA’s and Mystery Jets)
16 – O2 Academy Brixton, London
21 – First Direct Arena, Leeds (with DMA’s)
22 – Utilita Arena, Cardiff (with DMA’s and Mystery Jets)
23 – Utilita Arena, Birmingham (with DMA’s and Mystery Jets)

Tickets go on general sale at 9am BST this Friday (July 19) – you’ll be able to buy yours here.

Courteeners have already previewed the upcoming ‘Pink Cactus Café’ with “feel good” lead single ‘Solitude Of The Night Bus’.

Fray co-produced all tracks on the record – which features contributions from the likes of DMA’s, Brooke Combe, James and Ian Skelly (The Coral), Pixey, Charlie Salt (Blossoms) and Theo Hutchcraft (Hurts).

Speaking about the album, the frontman explained: “The last record [2020’s ‘More. Again. Forever.’] came out on the cusp of lockdown so straight away I went into panic (writing) mode… on my own but with no real plan.

“I wasn’t sure if it was going to be a side project, Courteeners, solo project. Just songs. Everything was up in the air. So, it wasn’t necessarily a Courteeners SOUND… I started reaching out on my Indie Rolodex as a bit of fun really, and it’s ended up being the most collaborative and rewarding thing we’ve ever done.”

Fray added: “It’s a real collage of an album, we threw everything into the melting pot.”

Courteeners are set to make appearances at Boardmasters and Victorious Festival next month.

In other news, Mystery Jets will support Razorlight at their ‘Up All Night’ 20th anniversary show in London this November. They’ll also perform in the capital in September as part of Transgressive Records’ 20th anniversary celebrations.
