Declan McKenna has posed in the iconic ‘Who The Fuck Is Mick Jagger?’ t-shirt design as his chart battle with The Rolling Stones heats up.
The singer is locked in a fierce battle for this week’s top spot, according to the latest data collected by the Official Charts Company, with roughly fewer than 50 physical units (CD, vinyl and cassette) separating the acts as they vie for the prestigious position on the UK album chart.
McKenna is hoping to score his first number one with his second studio album ‘Zeros’, while The Stones have reissued a deluxe edition of 1973’s ‘Goats Head Soup’.
But the 21-year-old has now laid down the gauntlet by posing in the Jagger t-shirt, which was popularised by Jagger’s bandmate Keith Richards when the band toured the US in the 1970s.
The artist has also covered the band’s 1965 hit ‘(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction’ with a distinct twist on TikTok.

While McKenna is hoping to land his first-ever UK number one album this week, The Rolling Stones already have 12 number one albums to date.
Last week, McKenna opened up to NME about his current success and his battles with imposter syndrome, saying: “I’ve just been sitting on an album for a year, and I have had too much time to ask myself questions about the musical direction I have gone in.
“When you get to that point, you begin to wonder if you are an absolute fraud.”
Elsewhere in the interview, McKenna spoke about the pressures of being on social media as an artist, describing it as “causing an epidemic of anxiety” for everyone.
