Drake has confirmed his Kendrick Lamar diss track was real.

Over the weekend, a rumoured Drake diss track against Lamar called ‘Push Up’ leaked online. The diss is a response to Lamar’s verse aimed at him and J. Cole on the song ‘Like That’, which was released as part of Metro Boomin and Future’s first collaborative album ‘We Don’t Trust You‘ last month.

Drake’s new diss contained shots referencing Lamar (“How the fuck you big steppin’ with a size seven men’s on?”), along with Metro Boomin (“Metro, shut your ho-ass up and make some drums”), The Weeknd (“Cash blowin’ Abel bread, out here trickin'”) and more.

However, there were doubts over the veracity of the track, with fans suspecting it to be the work of AI.

Now, Drake has confirmed the diss track was real. Taking to social media, the rapper posted an Instagram story with a clip of Metro Boomin playing some drums superimposed onto the 2002 movie Drumline. The clip is intended to reference his Metro diss in his own song.

The beef between Drake, J. Cole and Lamar reignited when J. Cole teamed up with Drake to release ‘First Person Shooter’ on the Canadian rapper’s 2023 album ‘For All The Dogs’. In the song, Cole made the following claim: “Love when they argue the hardest MC / Is it K-Dot? Is it Aubrey? Or me? / We the big three like we started a league.”

However, Lamar’s verse on ‘Like That’ saw him dissing both Cole and Drake, with him rapping: “Fuck sneak dissin’ / ‘First Person Shooter’ / I hope they came with three switches”, adding: “Motherfuck the big three, n****, it’s just big me.”

Cole eventually sent his own rebuttal on ‘7 Minute Drill from his most recent mixtape ‘Might Delete Later’, which he later retracted and admitted he regretted.

Drake also seemed to respond to the diss at a recent concert, saying: “A lot of people asking me how I’m feeling… the way I’m feeling is the same way I want you to walk out of here feeling tonight about your fucking selves. You know the way I’m feeling? I got my head up high, my back straight, I’m feeling 10 feet fucking high.”

Joe Budden has also shared this thoughts on the beef, saying: “Whatever little rap-y shit you thought was going on, it’s not that and something’s coming.”

“I think that J. Cole knows that from either Drake, Kendrick or both. And it was time to bow out because we are no longer in the first or second round with this thing. Kendrick has earned himself a buy with Cole’s apology.”

He later added: “I have it on good information that both sides went in the booth and came out. And what I’m hearing about both sides is that it’s nuclear. It’s up, up. I’m hearing this from people that can rap. So I wanna come in here and say that speculation time is over. Debate time is over.”

In other news, 50 Cent has reacted to Cole apologising to Lamar at this year’s Dreamville Festival, telling the rapper to “call [his] phone”.
