Eminem has teamed up with Babytron and Big Sean on his brand new single ‘Tobey’.

Tapping into the legendary superhero Spider-Man and the 2002 film of the same name, ‘Tobey’ sees the Detroit rapper wax: “Tobey Maguire got bit by a spider, but see, me, it was a goat” during the song’s third verse before rapping: “Way beyond crazy, Shady gone, but hey, maybe, I am the GOAT/With Big Sean and BabyTron, and that’s why they be on the shit they be on.”

The single’s cover art features Eminem with fellow Detroit rapper Big Sean and Babytron recreating the viral three Spider-Men pointing at each other meme. The song marks the second single to be released from the ‘Just Loose It’ rapper’s forthcoming 12th album ‘The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce)‘. It follows lead single ‘Houdini‘.

‘Tobey’s accompanying music video – which was directed by Cole Bennett – is set for release this Friday (July 5) and was previously teased by Eminem on social media. In the clip, Eminem is revving a chainsaw and gushing blood in a Jason Voorhees mask, slicing up a body while BabyTron and Big Sean look on.

The single is Eminem’s first collaboration with BabyTron and his fourth with Big Sean – they’ve worked together on the tracks ‘No Favors’, ‘Friday Night Cypher’ and ‘Detroit Vs. Everybody’ in the past.

Today (July 2), the rapper – who also goes by the alias Slim Shady – also shared that ‘The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce)’ is set for release next Friday (July 12). To announce the release date, Eminem shared a new trailer which sees a woman giving birth to a baby, who soon begins displaying demonic attributes.

Eminem’s last studio album, ‘Music to Be Murdered By’, was released in January 2020.

NME gave it a three-star review, saying: “He’s ready to pass on hard-earned wisdom before running his mouth like he hasn’t learned his own lessons. And he offers casual fans a hook or two before embarking on another lyrical work-out. It would actually be quite disappointing to see Eminem grow up entirely, and he seems to be having fun as he navigates his own idiosyncratic space.”
