Figures in the entertainment world ā such as 50 Cent, M.I.A., Kid Rock, and Freddie Gibbs, among others ā have reacted to a shooting at a Donald Trump political rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday (July 13).
A man ā who has been identified by the FBI as Thomas Matthew Crooks of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania ā is suspected of firing rifle shots at the former president, with one bullet appearing to strike his ear. The FBI have confirmed they are treating the incident as an assassination attempt.
A spokesperson for the Secret Service, Anthony Guglielmi, said that the president was āsafeā, while one spectator at the rally was killed and two others were critically wounded. Crooks was fatally shot by Secret Service agents.

In a statement, Trump said he was āfineā after a bullet hit him in āthe upper part of [his] right earā. He thanked Secret Service agents and law enforcement officers for their ārapid responseā.
āMost importantly, I want to extend my condolences to the family of the person at the rally who was killed and also to the family of [those] badly injured,ā he added. āIt is incredible that such an act can take place in our country.ā

50 Cent posted a clip of his song āMany Men (Wish Death)ā along with a photograph of Trump standing with his fist in the air and blood splattered across his face. āI know the vibes,ā the rapper wrote. āWe are all in trouble now!ā

An FBI statement said there are no further threats following the shooting, and that they had yet to establish a motive for the āassassination attemptā.
