Speaker of the House of Commons John Bercow speaks to the media outside the Houses of Parliament in central London on September 24, 2019

Fallout: London has added an ex-MP and former Speaker Of The House to its already-impressive cast of voice actors.

The player-made, full-conversion Fallout 4 mod has been in the works for a number of years now, but the end is in sight. To tide players over until the mod is finally released though, project lead Dean Carter has been teasing fans with tidbits of information on the Fallout: London discord.

“Imagine being Fallout: London and feeling so lucky having all the talented voice actors on the team,” he wrote earlier this week (via VG247) before revealing that two former Doctor Who actors have lent their talents to the project.

He went on to say that Baldur’s Gate 3 star Neil Newbon also messaged the Fallout: London team, saying he wanted to be involved as well.

“But the cherry on the top? Who better to represent our mod’s version of the Speaker of the House, than a robot version. Voiced by John Bercow himself,” Carter added. Bercow served as Speaker Of The House from 2009 to 2019 and would regularly go viral thanks to his eloquent put downs cutting through the rabble that is the British Parliament.

A clip of the robotic Bercow was also shared in the Fallout: London discord, where the Former Speaker can be heard saying his catchphrase “order” as well as “error” and  “protect and survive”, which was a real slogan used in a British public information campaign about nuclear war (via PC Gamer). Predictably, some fans were sceptical about Bercow’s inclusion in the game, and asked if it was an AI impersonation. Carter quickly shut down the accusation. “We don’t use AI voices,” he wrote.

Fallout: London is Bercow’s first foray into voice acting since he stepped down as a MP in 2019, but he did feature in season two of The Traitors US.

It’s not all good news for Fallout: London fans though. The mod still doesn’t have a release date, while those that bought their copy of Fallout 4 via the Epic Game Store will have to wait even longer to play it, due to Fallout: London needing to run on a downgraded version of the base game.

In other news, a new leak has revealed Epic Games had scrapped a load of Family Guy content from the 2023 Fortnite crossover event.
