FOO FIGHTERS drummer Taylor Hawkins has died at the age of 50. The band confirmed his passing in a statement earlier tonight (Friday, March 25). "The FOO FIGHTERS family is devastated by the tragic and untimely loss of our beloved Taylor Hawkins," read the message. "His musical spirit and infectious laughter will live on with all of us forever." FOO FIGHTERS were on tour in South America at the time of Hawkins' death and were preparing to perform in Bogota, Colombia. RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE frontman Tom Morello was among the musicians who reacted to Taylor's passing. "God bless you Taylor Hawkins. I loved your spirit and your unstoppable rock power," he wrote. "Rest In Peace my friend." "I've always had so much admiration for him," former DREAM THEATER drummer Mike Portnoy said of Hawkins on Twitter.
