Eminem has dropped another huge hint about his upcoming album online, suggesting that new material is imminent.
The rapper has been sharing cryptic clues with fans about new music since he announced details of an upcoming album ‘The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce)’ last month.
The LP will mark the 12th LP studio album from the artist, and the first since he dropped ‘Music To Be Murdered By’ in 2020. At the time of writing, there is no set release date, but it is expected to arrive during the summer. You can pre-save the album here.
Earlier this month, Eminem ran a fake Slim Shady obituary in a Detroit Newspaper, helping to build hype for the upcoming project. Later, eagle-eyed fans noticed that a clue seemed to be hidden in the eulogy, and speculated that the odd punctuation in the subhead – which read “Fans ‘Will Never Forget’ Controversial Rapper” – may be giving away the title of one of the tracks.
Now, the ‘Without Me’ singer has dropped what seems to be another big clue about the album; suggesting that new material is set to arrive next week.
The teaser came via a video the artist shared on Instagram last night (May 20), and appears to be an iMessage screenshot. The message, sent with invisible ink, reads “…and for my last trick!” and was sent to “all contacts”.
More interestingly, the message was sent at midnight on May 31 – which is Friday next week, suggesting that fans can expect a new single, or maybe even the full album then.
Some fans in the comment section are also looking into the “last trick” wording, and pondering whether ‘The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce)’ could be Eminem’s final album.
“Don’t you dare, to tell me this is your last album,” one wrote in the comment section, while another added: “I’m sorry, last?!”
“Eminem fans may not want to take it as facts but this may actually be Eminem’s last album. He is hinting at it,” a third wrote on X/Twitter. Find more fan responses below.

The initial announcement of a new album came via a trailer, which saw a reporter ponder the death of the Slim Shady alter-ego – which first made a debut back in 1997 – and launch an investigation.
The new album will mark Eminem’s first new music since he added a verse to Juice WRLD and Benny Blanco’s ‘Lace It’ in December.
Little else is known of the upcoming album besides that several tracks on the record have been produced by Dr. Dre. The producer revealed earlier this year that the rapper had been working on new material and had enlisted him for production duties.
“Eminem is working on his own album, which is coming out this year,” he said. “I actually talked to him and he said it was okay for me to make that announcement right here… So he has an album coming out, I’ve got songs on it and it’s fire.”
Eminem’s last studio album, ‘Music To Be Murdered By’, was given a three-star review by NME.
“Eminem’s discography once looked lopsided, youthful iconoclasm dissipating into creative exhaustion. But now it comes across as a little more interesting,” it read. “These curious newer records may age well […] The bigger question is this: should Eminem continue to grow old disgracefully, or cut the stately figure he adopts on the moving and impactful pro-gun control track ‘Darkness’?”
