fifty fifty new label iok company re-debut this year

Former FIFTY FIFTY members Saena, Aran and Sio have signed with a new label, MASSIVE E&C, and have plans to re-debut as a new trio sometime this year.

South Korean entertainment company IOK Company announced in a statement to NewsEn earlier today (August 12) that it has launched a brand-new subsidiary label called MASSIVE E&C, with all three former FIFTY FIFTY members as its first signed artists.

According to the outlet, Saena, Aran and Sio are slated to begin their new chapter as a “global girl group later this year”, per translations by SoompiThe company also teased that the “team behind the success of ‘Cupid'” are behind the trio’s forthcoming return to music, however remained tightlipped about further information.

IOK Company also announced that the upcoming re-debut of the three K-pop idols is part of its plan to “strengthen its presence in both domestic and international music markets and to solidify its status as a major player in global entertainment.”

“We plan to fully support these talented and passionate members to help them achieve even greater success worldwide,” the company wrote in their statement. “We aim to create a new success story in the global market.”

In June 2023, the original four members of FIFTY FIFTY filed to suspend their exclusive contracts with Attrakt, which was later denied by a Seoul court. While all members initially appealed the decision, member Keena later withdrew her appeal and returned to the agency.

After a months-long legal battle, the agency terminated its contracts with members Saena, Sio and Aran. Last November, Attrakt announced that FIFTY FIFTY would be re-organised with a new line-up centered around Keena, and later held overseas auditions in Singapore and Japan.

The news of the trio’s impending return to the industry comes amid the roll-out of FIFTY FIFTY’s new line-up of members. This is part of the lead-up to the group’s comeback in September as a renewed five-piece.
