The Cybertruck in 'Fortnite'

Fortnite players are banding together to destroy the latest ingame vehicle, the Tesla Cybertruck.

After causing a stir in the physical world, the Cybertruck has now found its way into Epic GamesFortnite. However, players aren’t exactly stoked on the new addition.

The Tesla Crybertruck was introduced last week and quickly, Fortnite players decided to call a temporary truce in order to destroy Elon Musk’s latest product. “I propose a new Fortnite rule,” started one viral tweet. “If you see someone in a Cybertruck, you are now in a truce with everyone else in the lobby until they’re taken out. This repeats as many times as necessary until everyone that bought this stupid thing is gone. Normal gameplay proceeds.”

“There’s an unspoken rule amongst a lot of players that they will drop whatever they’re doing to force a Cybertruck user back to the lobby. It’s your civic duty to uphold this honor code,” said another.

Fortnite’s associate producer Robby also took to X to remind people that his opinions were his own, before encouraging players to “destroy” any and all Cybertrucks “on sight”.

“Reminder that voting with your wallet works and sentiment on social media is a tangible factor,” added Kyle Wynn, a producer of Fortnite Festival. “Companies are composed of lots of different people with their own unique opinions [and] that truck looks fucking silly and the CEO of that company is a piece of shit.”

The Cybertruck is currently locked behind a quest wall, but will be available to buy from August 6 which is when hunting season will truly begin.

Fans have also pointed out that due to the massive windscreen, the Cybertruck is actually a downgrade on most vehicles currently in Fortnite.

Last month, Tesla was forced to recall a majority of physical world Cybertrucks for the fourth time, due to issues with the wiper blades.

In other news, Overwatch 2 is looking to fix one of the sequel’s most controversial changes following backlash from fans.
