The bandâs Zodiac series have been released periodically to coincide with the Chinese new year for nearly a decade now. In recent years, theyâve shared âYear Of The Dragonâ (2014), âYear Of The Hareâ (2015) and âYear Of The Snakeâ (2017).
Listen to ‘Act Three’ from ‘Year of the Horse’, featuring Maegan Brooks Mills and Tuka Mohammed alongside Berninger, below.
Fucked Upâs most recent album âDose Your Dreamsâ came out in 2018. A four-star NME review of the album said: âFor those who may be longing for Fucked Upâs hardcore punk days of old, you neednât fret: the trio of opener âNone Of Your Business, Manâ, âHouse of Keysâ â both equipped with churning guitars, thumping drums, and Abrahamâs impassioned roar â and the searing âAccelerateâ are sure to get the circle pit-minded faction of their fanbase on side.
âThereâs almost something for everyone on âDose Your Dreamsâ, and, thankfully, that eclectic aspect to Fucked Upâs most ambitious project yet means it leans more towards opus than hopeless.â
Berninger, meanwhile, released his debut solo album ‘Serpentine Prison’ last year. Watch the singer discuss every song on the release in an exclusive NME Track By Track guide above.
Last month, a deluxe edition of ‘Serpentine Prison’ was released, featuring six new songs. Among them are two new original songs â âLet It Beâ and âThe Endâ â as well as four covers.
Those four songs include renditions of American soul singer Eddie Floydâs âBig Birdâ, alt-rock band Morphineâs âIn Spite Of Meâ, Louisiana soul star Bettye Swannâs âThen You Can Tell Me Goodbyeâ, and The Velvet Undergroundâs âEuropean Sonâ.
