Cloud9 has reportedly reached teams to acquire Luka âPerkzâ Perkovi from G2 Esports, ahead of the 2021Â League Of Legends season.
According to ESPNâs Jacob Wolf, Cloud9 has made âverbal commitmentsâ to buy out Perkz, with both organisations coming to an agreement on Thursday (November 12). However, the deal has yet to be made official, as the League Of Legends free agency market only opens on November 16.
The Croatian mid-laner’s move to Cloud9 also means that the organisation’s current mid-laner, Yasin âNisqyâ Dinçer, will be available for buyout, Wolf notes. In addition, G2 Esports will likely also be on the search for a new Attack Damage Carry to replace Perkz.
Kind of goes without saying, but @Cloud9 will now make @Nisqylol fully available for buyout & @G2esports will be on the hunt for a new AD carry.
Biggest deal of the offseason so far.

It was previously reported that G2 Perkz was being shopped to Cloud9 for US$5million. G2 Esports, which Luka âPerkzâ Perkovi has been with since 2015, was said to be shopping the mid-laner around to multiple other organisations â including 100 Thieves, TSM and Team Vitality â according to ESPNâs Jacob Wolf, with Perkzâs âdesired destinationâ being Cloud9.
However, Wolf also stated that G2 and Cloud9 had not come to an agreement on Perkzâs buyout yet, which is âjust shyâ of US$5million. He added that the deal could âvery well NOT happenâ if the two organisations are unable to find common ground. But if the deal does go through, it would reunite Perkz with his former G2 League Of Legends teammate Jesper âZvenâ Svenningsen.

.@G2esports and @G2Perkz have been actively engaging the past two weeks with six different teams â Cloud9, Evil Geniuses, 100 Thieves, TSM, Team Vitality and Misfits â sources told me. Cloud9 are his desired destination, on an #LCS record-setting proposed salary, but… (cont)

Soon after Wolfâs report broke, Cloud9âs official Twitter account posted a gif of someone throwing money at the screen. A couple of hours after, the account uploaded a seemingly photoshopped image of Perkz wearing a jersey in the organisationâs color, in response to the player going live on Twitch.

However, neither Cloud9, G2 nor Perkz have officially commented on the potential record-breaking deal. Despite that, fans have been quick to react to the report with YouTuber Dr Disrecpected jokingly saying that he feels âinsultedâ. Meanwhile, some have also started creating memes featuring Perkz.

In other League Of Legends news, Fnatic players Bwipo and Nemesis recently defended T1 following fan backlash over the organisationâs management of its team. In a Twitlonger post, Bwipo wrote: âIf you canât find the patience and willingness to believe in your teams decisions, perhaps it is time to reconsider what made you follow T1.â
Meanwhile, Riot Games previously announced Ruined King, a new RPG spin-off of League Of Legends. The game is being developed by Airship Syndicate, best known for Darksiders: Genesis, in partnership with Riot Gamesâ Riot Forge initiative, which allows third-party developers to work on games using the League of Legends IP.
