A general view of the block 9 stage on Day 2 of Glastonbury Festival 2023 on June 22, 2023 in Glastonbury, England.

Glastonbury Festival has announced the 2024 line-up for Block9, and confirmed the return of outdoor dance area Genosys. Find all the details below.

The legendary Worthy Farm event will return next month, and see headline sets from Dua Lipa, Coldplay and SZA, as well as the likes of Shania Twain, LCD Soundsystem, Little Simz and The National.

The initial wave of acts were confirmed in March, and since then, organisers have been drip-feeding separate posters for the festival’s many areas and stages – including Left Field, Woodsies, The Glade, the Acoustic Stage, Silver Hayes, The Park and The Common.

Now, Glastonbury has confirmed details of its Block9 line-up for 2024; celebrating 17 years since it was first launched.

Emerging back in 2007, the area encourages diversity, freedom and collaboration through music and creativity, and has come to develop a community of like-minded DJs, producers, performing artists, musicians, technicians, drag queens and kings, activists, go-go butcher boys, club kids and ravers.

This year’s instalment also marks the long-awaited return of brutalist giant and outdoor dance arena, Genosys, alongside legendary venues The NYC Downlow, The Meat Rack and IICON.

Both Confidence Man and Bicep have been announced in the latest update, as have Honey Dijon, Eliza Rose, Sophie Lou, Luke Howard and A-Future.

Other new announcements for Block9 include Niks, A Guy Called Gerald, Deena, Husband, Wallace, Peach, Sugarbear, Scarlet O’Malley and many others. Find the full line-up in the Glaso poster above.

Also new for this year, queer nightlife institution NYC Downlow will hold its first-ever Downlow Day Party on the afternoon of the Saturday edition (June 29). This will be hosted by New York legend François K (Body & Soul).

Fashion icon and activist Katharine Hamnett is also set to join forces with Block9 in a bid to encourage people to vote through her trademark, power-packed slogans and instantly recognisable graphic style.

Further area announcements for Glastonbury Festival 2024 are expected in the coming weeks. Visit here for the full line-up and stage splits so far.

In other Glasto news, the festival recently shared details of a new stage dedicated to South Asian talent as part of the Shangri-La area, with Bobby Friction, Anish Kumar, Nabihah Iqbal and Nikki Nair appearing on the bill.

The final batch of tickets for this year’s event sold out in 20 minutes last month. A limited amount of coach/ticket packages were snapped up in 18 minutes, three days prior.

Glastonbury co-organiser Emily Eavis had revealed earlier that the festival had seen its “highest percentage of ticket balances paid ever”.

As for first time Glasto headliner Dua Lipa, the singer has said she “manifested” headlining the Worthy Farm event “by album three” early on in her career. Her third studio record, ‘Radical Optimism’, was released on May 3.
