SEVENTEEN fans have reacted to the news that the group’s Glastonbury performance won’t be available for worldwide viewing.

Today (June 28), the 13-member group will become the first-ever K-pop act to perform on Glastonbury‘s main stage and fans have shared their outrage as they have learned that  the festival’s livestream via BBC iPlayer is restricted to United Kingdom.

“Let’s manage our expectations and still hype them up.@GlastoLive Please reconsider streaming SEVENTEEN @glastonbury,” tweeted one user while another shared: “The SEVENTEEN set? Perhaps only maybe possibly some parts on the BBC iplayer which is only available to residents of the UK……. Great choice. Thanks @pledisnews & @BBCiPlayer”

Though many dedicated SEVENTEEN fans were dismayed at the news of BBC iPlayer only being available for UK residents, various fan accounts have taken to X/Twitter to share information on how those outside of the UK can watch the stream via the use of a VPN.

Previously speaking to NME about their forthcoming Glastonbury set and making history as the first k-pop group to perform at the mainstage, SEVENTEEN member Seungkwan said:  “We actually tend to enjoy that challenge,” with bandmate Dino adding “Obviously, it’s super enjoyable to share the experience with our fans, but it’s also very exciting [to be able] to showcase us to people who might be less familiar. It makes us want to bring out an even more intense performance.”

Jun also added: “For those who might be seeing us for the first time, the first thing that would most likely come to their mind is the fact that we have a lot of members,” he reasons. “I think we can leverage that to show a very special appeal that only we have as a team, as three units [the performance unit, hip-hop unit and vocal unit], and as individual members, so we’ll try to blow their minds with this weapon that we have.”
