Netflix has announced the premiere date for season three of its hit K-drama Sweet Home – read on for everything you need to know about the hit series’ upcoming instalment, from plot and cast to trailers and more.
What is the plot of Sweet Home?
Season one of the apocalyptic horror series introduced viewers and fans to the chilling world of Korean creatures and monster of folklore and mythology, as seen through the eyes of Hyun-su. When a strange monster plague breaks out and causes the downfall of society, he is forced to work together with the co-habitants of his apartment complex in order to survive.
Season two picked up where it left off by expanding the universe and exploring deeper themes. The South Korean military has set up shelters for survivors, who are divided by ideologies amid the new normal. Plus, as they come to terms with how mankind moves on, they realise the monsters that have been plaguing Earth are evolving at an alarming rate.
According to Netflix, season three of Sweet Home will focus on how the line between monster and human will begin to blur as humanity grapples with the newfound emergence of “neo humans” in a world on the brink of extinction. The streamer also confirmed that season three will be the conclusion to the Sweet Home saga.
Who will star in the new season?
The established cast members from both prior seasons will return to Sweet Home season three to reprise their respective characters. Song Kang will return as protagonist Hyun-su, while Lee Jin-uk will return to play Nam Sang-won, who possesses the body of Pyeon Sang-wook.
Other returning cast members include Lee Do-hyun, Lee Si-young, Kim Sia, Ko Min-si, GOT7’s Jinyoung, Yoo Oh-seung and Kim Moo-yeol. It is currently still unclear if there will be any new additions to the cast for Season 3.

According to a new released by Netflix on June 12, the season three of Sweet Home will make its international premiere July 19 exclusively on the streaming platform.
