highlight comeback around us entertainment

K-pop boyband Highlight have released the tracklist for their upcoming mini-album, ‘The Blowing’.

The forthcoming project will include six brand-new tracks from the South Korean group, with contributions from frequent Chung Ha collaborator Vincenzo on ‘Disconnected’. It’ll include the title track ‘The Blowing’, which was co-written by member Gikwang with producers Pollen and Lavin, both of whom worked on GOT7‘s 2020 single ‘Breath’.

On April 26, Highlight shared two types of concept photos on social media. The first set of sepia-toned pictures feature the boyband on a dreamy set while the second depicts them posing with film-themed props. They’d also previously teased the lyrics from their upcoming releases, such as: “I’m still here, it’s not the end.”

On April 18, the group also released a video teaser. Dubbed a “comeback trailer”, the cryptic video captures the four-member boyband – comprising Yoon Doo-Joon, Yang Yo-seop, Lee Ki-Kwang and Son Dong-Woon – sitting around a table that features a small sailboat at the centre.

Highlight first unveiled the name of the forthcoming project on April 16, alongside a detailed “schedule plan” for the release. ’The Blowing’, which marks the group’s first comeback in over two years, is set to drop on May 3 at 6pm KST.

‘The Blowing’ is the group’s follow-up to their 2018 project ‘Outro’. It will also be their first project since the departure of Yong Jun-Hyung, who exited the group in 2019 after becoming involved in South Korea’s Burning Sun scandal. The other members of Highlight were previously on hiatus as they were completing their mandatory military service.

According to Korea JoongAng Daily, Highlight will also be releasing weekly episodes of their web-entertainment series The Highlight Twist every Friday till ‘The Blowing’ is released. The first episode of the series was released on April 15.

Highlight originally made their debut as BEAST under Cube Entertainment in 2009. The group established their own company, Around Us Entertainment, and rebranded as Highlight following their departure from the agency in 2017. Throughout their career, the group released several albums and EPs, with hit singles such as ‘Shock’ and ‘Fiction’.
