House Of The Dragon has teased a huge battle to come in the trailer for the season two finale.
The Game Of Thrones prequel will wrap up its second run next weekend (August 4), with a new preview giving fans a taste of what’s to come.
“The dragons dance, and men are like dust under their feet,” Ser Criston Cole declares at the start. “We march now towards our annihilation.”
We then see Alicent warn Aemond of “ruin and death”, while Aemond later promises that they “will answer outrage with outrage”.
“For every one of us who falls, a hundred of them, there will be no mercy,” a voice later shouts, suggesting the finale will get very bloody.
In other news, a recent House Of The Dragon episode which featured a same-sex kiss between Queen Rhaenyra and Lady Mysaria was subjected to review bombing from some fans.
Star Sonoya Mizuno revealed that the kiss wasn’t in the original script, explaining to TheWrap: “I think it was scripted as … there’s just breath between them or something, and then whatever happens is interrupted.”
Mizuno added: “Because we were separate in the room…[and] Mysaria has told this story, [D’Arcy] felt the instinct to hold her, to comfort her. From that, it felt so organic to go into the kiss.”
Mizuno also said that they didn’t want it to feel “queer-baity in any sense,” and that the moment made it feel “emotionally so right.”
“I don’t think either of them have been hugged like that in a long time, if not ever,” the star added. “I think it was the hug – the intimate vulnerability of that hug – which morphed into this very tender and passionate kiss, which was quite… amazing. I think it’s very thrilling in the moment for both of them.”
Meanwhile, House Of The Dragon was renewed for a third season back in June, with a release date yet to be confined. The franchise is also gearing up for a second spin-off called A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms, which is due to premiere in early 2025.
