Isla Fisher has updated her fans for the first time since she and Sacha Baron Cohen announced their divorce last month.
In April, the couple shared a joint statement on social media announcing their split. Alongside a photo of them in tennis clothes, a caption read: “After a long tennis match lasting over 20 years, we are finally putting our racquets down. In 2023, we jointly filed to end our marriage.”
They continued: “We have always prioritised our privacy and have been quietly working through this change. We forever share in our devotion and love for our children. We sincerely appreciate your respecting our family’s wish for privacy.”
Now, Fisher has addressed her fans, thanking them for their support following the announcement.
The actor uploaded a photograph of herself to her Instagram story with the caption: “Thank you for all your kindness and support”.
Cohen, who has not provided an update since the April post, has made headlines in recent months for his dispute with Rebel Wilson over her memoir Rebel Rising.
Wilson made various accusations about the Borat star’s behaviour during her career, which he and his legal team denied.
Upon the book’s UK release, the chapter titled “Sacha Baron Cohen and Other A**holes” was edited, redacting any direct allegations about the comedian.
Cohen’s legal team spoke to Deadline about the UK release, saying: “Printing falsehoods is against the law in the UK and Australia; this is not a ‘peculiarity’ as Ms Wilson said, but a legal principle that has existed for many hundreds of years.”
They added: “This is a clear victory for Sacha Baron Cohen and confirms what we said from the beginning – that this is demonstrably false.”
