Jeremy Allen White has apparently been texting Bruce SpringsteenĀ in the hopes of meeting him in London to prepare for his upcoming role.

The Bear star was announced as part of the film in April after Deadline reportedĀ that White was the favourite to play a young SpringsteenĀ in the film which wasĀ announced this January.

The film is reportedly set to explore the making of Springsteen’s classic album ‘Nebraska’. Scott Cooper (Crazy Heart, Hostiles) will write and direct the film, which is based on Warren Zaneā€™s 2023 book,Ā Deliver Me from Nowhere: The Making of Bruce Springsteenā€™s Nebraska.Ā

Now, to prepare for his role, White has revealed toĀ VarietyĀ that he hasĀ ā€œtexted and emailedā€ Springsteen in the run up to his Saturday (July 27) show at Wembley.

ā€œIā€™m really excited to see him perform,ā€ White said, cheekily adding that Springsteen texts “like a boss”.

Meanwhile, The Bear‘s highly-anticipated third season has just dropped, with mixed reviews flooding in.

The Guardianā€™s Rebecca Nicholson wrote about the first episodeā€™s style: ā€œDogged repetition is the enemy of convincing storytelling. It needs toĀ move. This means the excellent Sydney (Ayo Edebiri) is somewhat sidelined, both in the storyline and, to some extent, the season. What a waste.ā€

And inĀ Variety, Alison Herman echoed: ā€œIt also tells us nothing we donā€™t already know, making room for cameos by a slew of culinary legends at the expense of moving the story forward. The structure would work for an extended cold open to establish Carmyā€™s mood; stretched to an entire episode, itā€™s an overindulgence.ā€

In other Bruce Springsteen news, the Boss recentlyĀ took part in Mark Knopflerā€™s star-studded charity re-recording of ā€˜Going Homeā€™, which starred the likes ofĀ Queenā€˜sĀ Brian May,Ā Bruce Springsteen,Ā Black Sabbathā€™s Tony Iommi,Ā Eric Clapton,Ā Rolling StonesĀ guitaristĀ Ronnie WoodĀ and many more.
